Internet Streaming Video Programmer/Consultant
 

Hey everybody. Yeah, I know, there's a forum for that and I have this posted there https://gfy.com/showthread.php?t=1063358, but since I actually wanted it to get read I am posting it here too.

This is for a mainstream marketing company in Kansas City, Missouri.

My preference would be to find someone local but since it is a niche position I am willing to consider anyone that meets the requirements.

What I need is an expert in streaming video. I need Borked, but unfortunately he doesn't have the availability right now.

Please, I do not want to hear from any agency/outsource type companies.

Here is the ad copy I am running on mainstream boards:

Kansas City area marketing firm has a three to six month contract position available for a web video expert. We have built a proof of concept, and are now ready to proceed with a full build. As a contract Programmer/Consultant, this position will work somewhat independently, but will require the ability to communicate well (both written and verbal) as part of the team that will be guiding his/her activities.

Requirements:

* Expert level of understanding and practical usage of video streaming technology, streaming servers and associated applications
* Proficient with flash, ios and html5 streaming
* Proficient in java and xml
* Familiarity with PHP, ASP, MYSQL, SQLServer helpful.
* Can get up to speed quickly and handle tasks independently
* Interacts well with the team and is able to utilize expertise as required

The proof of concept has been built, however the process design is still not fully laid out. The current version was developed on a small Wowza server, but this setup is strictly for use during development. The plan is to move to a more robust solution once design, programming and testing have been solidified.

Our current timeframe calls for a test version of this product to be ready to live demo in late April or early May.

Pay and Hours:

Pay rate is negotiable.

This project is estimated to last from three to six months, and is anticipated to require around forty hours per week.
Some on-site hours will be necessary, but it is expected that a good portion of the work can be accomplished off-site.
