What & how much to promote on blogs?

* Reading a lot lately about blogs, networks. Searched through all the threads about blogs. Lot of questions already been answered.
* Also I am trying to find out things myself but it just consume lot of time & experience. Which will definitely come with time.

It is even better to learn from the mistakes others have already made in past & now heading towards right direction. I am not asking for your secrets but just the basics.

When looking in the concept of blog networks. I know this is generally for 2 purposes. Link building and affiliate sales. I understand the link building part and working on it & doing ok so far.

When it comes to SEO & making sales through blog networks. Things are not so clear.

1) SEO needs lot of reading again and thr is a lot to read.

My Real Questions:

2) Sales?

* Suppose I am choosing amateur niche.
How many sponsor sites should I promote in the niche? Example: just one sponsor site in 50 of my blogs? or I should use a bunch of sponsors proving amateur content?

If the answer is bunch of sponsors:
Should each blog just promote one sponsor site or promote different sponsor sites in each post that blog and also how many sponsors each blog to limit myself?

Not sure if I explained it clear enough but lets see response and I will sure try to explain myself better. Please tell me how this works. So I don't keep on doing all wrong.

thnx

if you are planning many blogs anyway try a whole bunch of approaches and variables and you will see what works in not necessarily should according to common wisdom.

when you find out what works best just scale it.

I am sure trying to find out myself what works best but in starting I should know at-least know which way to go.. So I will keep on trying my way & the standard proven ways of doing things....

Very true. I have many blogs and most are used for research on SEO, link relevancy, clicks/sales/bounce rate with different banners and selling text styles, promoting site specifics or multiple sites on a niche or broad blog branching out to niche blogs/posts, etc.

There is no single answer to what to promote and how to do it. If there was, it would change daily..

porno jew 04-11-2012 11:19 PM

when starting take a look at successful sites and look at what they do and back engineer them when possible.

I am not after what sponsor to promote but if promoting one same sponsor on 50 blogs is a good idea or promoting 10 sponsors in 50 blogs is a good idea to go with.

Promoting one sponsor in each blog is the way to go or promote more then one sponsor in each blog is the read deal?

been trying to find this myself but it looks everything works different. I saw one website with good ctr and bounce rate. That site only provide free pics and videos with regular updates. All SE traffic. He promote via banners only. Still he claims he make fine sales then the story is different for others. Just try to find out what is the majority out thr to my questions answer.....?

Scale up, scale up, and scale up some more like porno jew said. Once I see one sponsor doing even just a little bit better then the other ones I promote, I buy a bunch of domains and build more blogs promoting just that sponsor to send them as many uniques as I can.

Just keep building blogs, you'll get the hang of it...as long as you don't quit and stick with it you'll see your work start to pay off.

There's really no correct answer...many people have different blogging methods that work for them.

What a lot of bloggers do is make posts with a picture linking to an FHG with some good text below it. (this works for me)

You could also host the galleries yourself and make your posts in the picture/movie galleries and have a banner linking to the sponsor's tour.

Test and repeat what works, I make sales with any type of blog that you can think of.

On blogs that you promote site specifically, keyword research helps best in deciding if its worth promoting that way or to mix in a niche blog.

Markul 04-12-2012 12:41 AM

Also you want to make sure you can change links easily when sponsors die or fuck you. You do not want to end up with 100 blogs each having 1000 posts with 100000 different links you need to change.

For some reason I am still sending a few hundred clicks to a long dead (non-paying) sponsor and I've given up on finding out where the fuck they come from lol

sounds like a good plan....
how long it takes before you see anything works? I am actually following couple of different niches not many & opening more blogs for them... only one month passed so far but didn't see much going yet. Google not giving enough love yet. Just wondering how long it takes to see any good results if you are doing everything according to books?

Ive only had a couple of blogs where the sponsor died, and when I can't change links easily I either use the blog to backlink to others for SEO and put plugrush on it and post a few new posts to a similar niche sponsor that is still active if possible. Either that or I just redirect the traffic to another blog or tube.

Getting targeted traffic to your blogs is the hard part, blogging is easy.. :2 cents:

Work at backlinking to related blogs, submit to good blog directories, hand submit to G, Yahoo, Bing, use bulkping.com, Linkspun, learn keyword research, work at good selling text, etc.

I'm not giving away too much anymore, apparently people hate it when I do that.. :Oh crap

sign up here linkspun.com once your blogs are built you will use it to find a-b-c and a-b-c-d link trades.

under "find trades" look at the niches listed there. google the niches names like "spanking" or whatever and see what blogs are on the first couples pages of google. you can get a good idea of what is working and what to do by studying them.

I am thr at linkspun with all my blogs doing trades. As that's kinda good idea you suggested. I should study this now.. It took me 2 months after I got into blog network reading & stuff. I made 20 or more blogs, got the tools related up & running, it was just too much to go over. This thread was the part where I didn't know whats next & if I am going in the right direction. Now I have a lot to study again...... :D

thnx guys better get to it...

lol. I just really hated being poor when I started so I grinded for hours a day and turns out blogging makes a bunch of money. Doing that for so long let me figure out a whole bunch of neat tricks.

I take my laptop wherever I go and blog mostly either at my house or apartment with a hookah or at the park on a nice day.. :upsidedow

I'm not sure tbh, usually what I do is either link to a php page that redirects to the join page or keep a spreadsheet of the links I use so I can do a search and replace.
