How much are premium non .com domains worth

Are non .com/.net/.us/.org domains worth something? Talking about one word domain that ends up on other extensions like .rs or .mk or vg ?

pornmasta 04-13-2012 05:05 PM

Greatly depends on the word and the extension. There is no way anyone can give you any sort of idea what an item is worth if they don't know what the item is.

There are just so many factors there is no way to even get remotely close - not even give you a general idea other than to say a .net is worth far more than a .us and a .org is pretty much worthless except under very rare circumstances.

non .com domains can't be premium.

I'm not sure that there are any "power" words anymore that are worth something in every extension. Sex, poker, casino, travel, business, www and maybe a handful others were worth more than reg fees in every extension some years ago, but the demand for those kind of names really dropped. I used to deal a lot in them myself and haven't in 3+ years. Poker was ridiculous enough at one point that even in obscure extensions you could pretty much count on getting $1,500+ for it. I've sold 5 different Poker.ext names names ranging from $1,500 to $60,000.

I have seen premium .net domains sell for up to 100k$, and premium .org domains go for over 10k$. It really depends on the domain and the buyer

Code:

Median Sales Price
Q4        2009        in        $
                .com        437
                .net        498
                .org        436
                .biz        333
                .info        253

Dated, but with the economic conditions since then the MEDIAN selling prices are little better most likely. As for the new gTLDs who knows -- there may be lowered values for reason of dilution and better values depending on the gTLD first string (.whatever).

that's so true... but how can we know how much is someone willing to pay if we don't know if and how much they are worth ... that's my point...

I know for how much I could start asking for webmasters.com but what I don't know is for how much I can sell webmasters.gr or else...
