pornguy 04-27-2012 06:02 AM

How much do you want for it.

iSpyCams 04-27-2012 06:12 AM

How much and why are you not ebaying it?

phasic 04-27-2012 07:02 AM

Looking for about $1300, wanted to sell it today if I can and avoid ebay fees. But heres my eBay feedback, if you have concern.

phasic 04-27-2012 11:17 AM

Guess thats a no?

I can never understand why some people get so CRAZY and FANATIC with apple products...

Over-priced, fashion gadgets... I can build a custom MORE POWERFUL machine any day, half the price of a shitty mac, buying every single part on my own.

Any way, good luck with the sell.. But why don't you write the price of it in the thread?

Really wondering.

Yeah dude! But the scroll is cool. You place 2 fingers on the mouse pad and drag down to make your pages go down when you surf the internet.

The fucking thing has a light sensor on the power button.. It dims the screen and keyboard light up depending on the light level in the room.

They have like, this trash can you can drag the apps to and it deletes them.. He deleted the safari and he had to buy the new Mac OSX CD directly from them to get it back for like 40 bucks LOL He couldn't go online cause the safari was gone hahaha

But.. He got the 3000 machine for 250 bucks so it was worth it. They say they are really cool for webdesign and shit. Buy my main i3 is much faster..

Brujah 04-27-2012 04:36 PM

Refurbished ones from Apple are about $1k.

It's a great machine, however they are supposed to release a rumor'd 15 and 17" version which should make this one worth around a grand.

I have one and love it.

If you can't sell it anywhere at that price I'll give you 450,- for it. Just bought a new macbook pro 2 months ago so not really looking but I'm sure I could fine use for it if you can't find a buyer.

facialfreak 04-27-2012 09:50 PM

I have the 13" Mid-2011 i7 MacBook Pro with 8GB of RAM and 320GB OWC SSD drive ....

I paid a small ransom for the SSD upgrade, but its worth every damn penny of it!!

A large number of people who bash  are generally either ignorant, or do not have enough disposable income to afford them.

I was a Linux and Windows fanboy thru and thru, but after almost a year with my MacBook Pro, and trading services for an iPad, and I totally "get" the Apple ecosystem. :thumbsup

In all fairness, Windows 8 is really impressing me - we are running it on 2 test machines in the office. Even though only in consumer preview version, and I think it is going to really give Apple a go for the money for the favorite mobile computing OS ...

The next 18-24 months are going to be very interesting to see how this all plays out ......

garce 04-27-2012 09:52 PM

Sell it at Quibids (no link... Really?) so I can buy it for $19.27

Right - millions and millions of productive Apple users must be wrong.
While you are toying with all of your "parts" us Mac users will be productively working.

I can never understand why some people get so CRAZY and FANATIC hating on people that like apple products.

Seriously, how does it affect your day if I use a Mac product? Why do you care?

You don't see Mac users popping up in *nix or windows threads mocking and hating on people that user those OSes. Why do Windows fanbois feel the need to say things on apple threads?

i guess the annoying thing is that many Apple user really believe they have something better while it's just the same shit in a different outfit. Just more expensive.

but the same applies to Linux users as well - there is no perfect OS

selena 04-28-2012 07:29 AM

One thing PC users can do that Mac users can't

Use whatever kind of computer you want, we dont care. But you sound jelly.

2MuchMark 04-28-2012 08:19 AM

For those of you who say Mac's are lame, you really don't know what you're talking about. Of course Macs run Skype. Geezuz.

Also to whoever complained about how it scrolls, you should spend a little more time and learn how the gestures work. All mac products support multi-touch gestures on the mac pads. It's a slightly different way of doing things but once you learn it, wow - it is such a huge improvement over the old fashioned point-and-click.

As for right-click, yes it has one of those too. For those who want right-click (like me), you enable it in the mouse settings.

The apple Wireless mouse for example has no buttons on the top. Instead you click the left or right side of the mouse for left or right click. Even better, the top of the mouse is touch / swipe the service of the mouse for scrolling and other gestures. It's freakin' amazing.

Phasic : Apple.com is selling Macbook Air's starting at $999. I know you said that yours was custom configured as it was purchased in November that makes it almost 6 months old. If you really want to move it fast, I'd suggest selling it at less than $900. Computers "evolve" really quickly as you know. I'm in the market to buy a Macbook Air, but as a consumer I would feel better paying full price at Apple than full price by someone online. Therefore, reducing your price might make it more interesting to buyers. Good luck!

One of the things I love about Macs is the lack of having to deal with drivers. As far as hardware goes, Apple nailed it with the PowerMac and Mac Pro line. So easy to work on.

I have a MacBook Air, love it, and recommend it, but since they're not designed to be worked on, I'm fucked if anything ever goes wrong. Doing anything to it would be a big headache. And what's the deal with pentalobe over Torx? That is like some shit that Sony would pull. Apple computers have never given me any shit, so far so good. It's still selling at the same price I got it for 6 months ago... as long as you keep your Apples in pristine condition and buy at the beginning of a product cycle, you can swap them out every X months and keep on top of the same without too much depreciation. I already get my shit cheap, so I lose even less. Mac Rumors buying guide is a great tool.

Someone mentioned a 17 inch MacBook Air... sign me up, that would be fucking mind-blowing. :thumbsup

Nothing against Apple itself, but this is the kind of comment that makes people hate Apple fanboys...

If you have a more realistic price for a 6 month old USED laptop let me know.. you'rebasically asking for retail price

yuu.design 04-29-2012 04:36 PM

newb102k 04-29-2012 05:06 PM

Sorry son, but I'm sure that whatever lowball offer you had in mind isn't going to cut it.

Personally, I'd get more pleasure smashing the fuck out of a perfectly good laptop than handing it over to an annoying sob-story Internet begging peasant.

Go back to Craigslist. :2 cents:

react 04-29-2012 05:24 PM

The MBA was a revolutionary machine which is why all the other manufacturers are now copying the Apple design. All so you idiots who can't afford the original can buy a clone that runs an inferior (also copied) OS.

It takes Apple to push everyone else forward, I can't imagine what the state of the industry would be without them. Have you ever used an EEE PC? Or an Acer equivalent? Lol.

xoxo.

phasic 05-01-2012 08:56 AM

I knew this would turn into an apple bash thread rather than sticking to the point of having a laptop for sale. If anyone is interested please let me know.

fris 05-01-2012 09:18 AM

$1300 is too much when you can get them cheaper

You'll need to come WAY down on the price if you want to sell it.

Whats a good asking price?

Linguist 05-02-2012 06:12 PM

If you were in Canada I'd prolly buy it after bargaining the price down a bit.. btw the price is not that obscene. You can go and build exactly the same one on apple website for $1,948.00 (laptop and applecare) + any applicable taxes. Where I live, the final price would be around $2250

So that's almost half off retail...

For anyone who bashes this fine piece of machinery, Macbook air set the bar for ultraportables. No other laptop that I'm aware can match it in functionality, looks, weight & price. We've been over this already. If you don't like it or can't appreciate it, gtfo.
