motogp fan, so have a couple of tissots!

ottopottomouse 04-28-2012 09:21 AM

I've got an invisible one. Very lightweight and never needs winding.

My watch is called "iPhone."

SilentKnight 04-28-2012 09:24 AM

A cheap $17 one I bought along the boardwalk in Atlantic City five years ago. Wear it everyday...works better than ones I've paid several hundred for.

Grapesoda 04-28-2012 09:25 AM

thinking about this for xmass:

Wearing a watch screams "old man with old sweaty balls," don't you think?

That's pretty awesome. One of mine turned 5 yesterday. It made me think of how short their lives are and made me a little sad.

FYI: the "old man with old sweaty balls" was just a line that used to make me laugh a lot. This discussion seemed like a good place to use it.

Markul 04-28-2012 09:31 AM

A bunch of different ones (but one at a time lol), depending on the situation :)

HandballJim 04-28-2012 09:34 AM

none, but I like guess watches...

my cell phone is my watch :2 cents:

As a disclaimer, I added the "sweaty" part. It didn't fit the acronym: "OMWOB".

Omwob. Pronounced as it looks. Stands for "old man with old balls" and was amusing when used at the right moment to describe certain people. Guess ya had to be there.

Did you ever see Cadwell's jewel incrusted watch? Holy crap, that thing was nice. I don't remember what it was, though, only that there were diamonds everywhere.

It looked kinda like this, but I think it was bulkier:

My phone is my watch. I don't like to wear accessories of any kind.

dready 04-28-2012 01:15 PM

Seiko... they're reliable and invented pretty much all modern watch technologies.

Agreed. I like my Seiko automatic :thumbsup I also have a Movado and a cheap Croton as well. Favorite by far is the Seiko though, and I've got my eye on a few more from them. Call me weird but I'd rather have a nice Seiko automatic than a Rolex.

Joe Obenberger 04-28-2012 03:41 PM

Rolexes, Seikos (auto wind and a couple of quartz), Sector, Casio G-Force with the solar cells and atomic clock radio control, Navy SEAL, US Army-issue circa 1980, Swiss Army and Russian Army. A GMT-Master is the everyday watch. And it's way too cold in Chicago today for anything to be sweating.

videoscribe 04-28-2012 03:58 PM

The watch is relatively cheap, you say. That’s not bad. The Nixon Chronicle Watch Review is interesting. He lists a lot of features, like: scratch resistant, stainless steel, hardened, leather bending and depth 100 meters. See the watch up-close from many different angles. Other products can be seen on their web site. The watch has a nice looking design. I wear a $10 watch every day.

alextokyo 04-28-2012 04:16 PM

iPhone is my watch.

I have a few wrist watches, but nothing special.

A Seiko that I bought when I was 16. A cheap Chinese watch from eBay that looked nice. A fake Rolex. A dollar shop watch that I bought for the sake of it. And a Nixon Banks black from eBay... I told the guy that it didn't arrive and got a refund. :1orglaugh

On top of that I've made plenty of money buying up limited editions, G-Shocks and old Seikos to sell on to hardcore collectors. I really don't know that much about them, and I'd be lost without forums, but I live close to a good few specialist dealers. Taking pics of everything in the store then fronting the sale (and hoping it's still in stock when I go back to the shop) is too good to pass up... an hour's work for $800 pure profit once or twice a week? It can be a decent business if you're serious and know what you're doing... and I didn't, but gave it a good crack because I'm like a fucking cancer. Plus I know how to use Google. :thumbsup :2 cents:

beks001 04-28-2012 04:33 PM

Gshock daily...would love a Rolex tho

shake 04-28-2012 04:38 PM

I hate having anything on my wrist, and it's annoying when working on a laptop. So I just use my iPhone. :2 cents:

stevemib 04-28-2012 04:40 PM

No watch, no cellphone. I used to wear a Breitling for years but sold it and haven't worn one since. My comp is my clock and phone. When I go out I don't care what time it is and don't bring work with me.

Spunky 04-28-2012 05:01 PM

I just use my cell

Don't wear watches but if I did it would probably be a Nixon. I've always liked how they look.

Same with me... have a blue one, then got the orange Nicky Hayden edition, followed by the orange Nicky Hayden championship one. Just recently got the red Hayden Ducati edition. Good watches.

Dave-U 04-29-2012 02:02 AM

not the most practical but this is my watch:

Why would I wear a watch? Cellphone's are how most people keep time now.

I do have a pocket watch for white rabbit purposes, though.

leg4 04-29-2012 05:41 PM

cell phone in pocket, no more watches.

Almost always my Navitimer... I switch to a Tag Aquaracer when I'm going to the beach or doing something active. Also a Suunto Altimeter when snowboarding.

ErectMedia 04-29-2012 06:19 PM

not a watch guy, last one I bought which I wear maybe 4-8 days a month.
