Google ended me

Yeah pretty much ... that is all.

Fap 04-29-2012 04:12 PM

Blocked your site?

wehateporn 04-29-2012 04:15 PM

Hang in there tony, it's seemingly ended me before as well, but then within a couple of months I've been up to record sales

lucas131 04-29-2012 04:16 PM

you know man, there is no perpetuum mobile for anything. if you do still the same, sure it will get boring to you or to others, in your case to google. just adjust what worked and do more different things, it takes time, but money arent for nothing :winkwink: have luck in future! :)

19teenporn 04-29-2012 04:24 PM

Sorry to hear that.

tonyparra 04-29-2012 04:27 PM

50%-75% loss in traffic, 50% decrease in revenue in last week, usually when revenue dips traffic remains but the busiest sites have been removed for the serps completely. Not looking good.

You could be back any day, it hasn't settled down yet

beks001 04-29-2012 05:08 PM

I make next to nothing in adult but I have completely stopped worrying about google and just started building and posting more often with quality. That is the ticket I think. I am a tiny webmaster but it seems to me like Mr. G really wants quality now.

SuckOnThis 04-29-2012 05:14 PM

Google ended a lot of people when they killed off the other search engines. I miss the days when I used to dominate Excite and Lycos.

The first real money I made in this business was basically slamming AOL search and Alta Vista with small sites I made. I had it down to a near science where I could have a top 10 spot for just about any keyword. It would only last 1-3 days, before I dropped deep into the serps, but I just kept building.

It was easy money.

Colmike9 04-29-2012 05:25 PM

Hm. If you have Sensual Writer blogs, a lot of those dropped on G for me but that's about it. No clue yet about the new update other than they're trying to prevent 'over optimization' but that's too vague of an answer..

beks001 04-29-2012 06:20 PM

I've actually stopped installing seo plugins on new blogs. Not sure if this is good or bad but we will find out.

This. :2 cents:

You only need 1-2 good ones for SEO. Too many can slow things down and sometimes do worse to your blogs than no plugins at all.. :2 cents:

signupdamnit 04-29-2012 06:39 PM

Sorry to hear that. I've been there before and took a small hit this time as well. It can help to cut expenses, look for ways to improve monetization and try to work smarter. Try to do some stuff which doesn't rely as much on Google if you can.

CYF 04-29-2012 07:16 PM

this was the google penguin update. They're targeting "over optimized" sites, keyword stuffing, poor quality backlinks.... basically sites that don't follow the quality guidelines. There's quite a bunch of info on it now, read up a little on it.

http://www.webpronews.com/google-pen...google-2012-04

1. Make pages primarily for users, not for search engines. Don’t deceive your users or present different content to search engines than you display to users, which is commonly referred to as “cloaking.”

2. Avoid tricks intended to improve search engine rankings. A good rule of thumb is whether you’d feel comfortable explaining what you’ve done to a website that competes with you. Another useful test is to ask, “Does this help my users? Would I do this if search engines didn’t exist?”

3. Don’t participate in link schemes designed to increase your site’s ranking or PageRank. In particular, avoid links to web spammers or “bad neighborhoods” on the web, as your own ranking may be affected adversely by those links.

4. Don’t use unauthorized computer programs to submit pages, check rankings, etc. Such programs consume computing resources and violate our Terms of Service. Google does not recommend the use of products such as WebPosition Gold™ that send automatic or programmatic queries to Google.

Because they target something does not mean every site they hit is necessarily guilty of anything. It's a set of complex computer algorithms so it's going to have some false positives and the evidence suggests it's much higher than they make it out to be for smaller sites and brands especially. He could be doing everything legit and still get hit due to some small technicality. That's the way it is. Google is much more volatile now.

mromro 04-29-2012 07:40 PM

So what they are saying is;

Get links to your site, but don't get links, especially from bad neighborhoods(whatever that is?) Like you have control over that.

If your site is about anal asian teens boys use that keyword but don't use that keyword because it looks like you are keyword stuffing.

Don't have any google search Queries to your site that's bad, people should not be searching for your keywords too much.

Don't try and improve your page rank, Page rank is bad!

So basically google wants you to make the surfer happy and give everything away to the surfer for free. That's why the tubes rank the best.

I understand that, I was just offering some suggestions of things he could look into.

ADAPT or DIE...

Google didn't affect any of my sites at all, in fact I got more traffic after the update.

ADAPT or DIE, which means: "If you keep using shitty traffic trading scripts to try to FORCE a GROW on your traffic and TRICK and SCAM the VISITOR and send him to another ste instead of the thumbnail he clicked, your site will get penalized."

I hate as a surfer clicking on a thumbnail and not getting the content I see in that thumbnail. Or clicking on any link on a site and getting a shitty LIVEJASMIN POPUP like most shitty tubes have. GOOGLE HATES that too.

Man, get real, on some sites you even click on the 2257 link or on the contact us link and a livejasmin popup OPENS, What the fuck? If that is not scamming like crazy I dont know what it. You bunch of TRICKY losers.

Period.

Soory, but you're so fucking wrong with this.
TUBES OPEN POPUNDERS AND POPUPS EVERY TIME YOU CLICK A LINK AND THEY COMPLETELY DOMINATE GOOGLE'S SEARCH RESULTS!!

But tubes DOMINATE search results. They have popunder. Popups and all kind of shit.

They get tens of million visitors a day. They don't care if you leave.

Google loves them

I use popunders on blogs that aren't converting for me so I can at least get some money out of them. I hate them and they do piss me off but you gotta do what you gotta do sometimes. On the few blogs I have the popunders on, Google doesn't seem to mind at all.

That's probably b/c a popup will open whenever a surfer clicks on any link. Period.

baryl 04-30-2012 01:42 AM

Porn popunders are way less intrusive than Youtube (Google's) own ads or the ridiculous flash ads all over most mainstream sites.

I honestly don't think Google gives a shit about one popunder. I've even lost ranking in the past for removing popunders although that may have been a coincidence.

Markul 04-30-2012 01:54 AM

I only worry about actual income and not so much traffic figures, but here's some percentages (doesn't mean much w.o. actual numbers attached to them, but basically some went up and some went down lol):

Day:
http://zmypic.com/img/day.png

Week:
http://zmypic.com/img/week.png

Month:
http://zmypic.com/img/month.png

Year:
http://zmypic.com/img/year.png

Ignore the second from the top, that's a mainstream website of a rather large utility client of mine and thus not my website

I guess I got hurt, but revenue is up.. not as much as it was from Feb -> March but still ok. I did spend too much on purchasing sites this month, but that's mainly cause I got fucked on two deals and the ROI won't happen for those trades. But fuck it.

Overall I'm happy with April, I'm not taking any money out as I'm putting all back into improving things. I guess that's the advantage of not having porn as a primary income.

roxxx 04-30-2012 02:30 AM

Panda 2 is shit, a step backward if u ask me. All the shitty sites (no content , no links no nothing) 99% white labels (duplicates) gone up and the other hard worked with tons of unique content and links vanished. That's my case and i guess many others.

It's not over yet, folks. The algo is being adjusted and smoothed out. Give it a few weeks to stabilize to long term form.

Porn gets fucked because it lacks most of the social network element that mainstream has. So there isn't really many natural surfer driven ways to get incomming links to your sites, people probably aren't going to click "like" for your extreme gay bdsm website

I've only sent out 150 or so tweets this year but have had thousands of organic retweets so it can be done.

alextokyo 04-30-2012 06:41 AM

Time and time again we see that placing eggs in one basket is not smart. It's unfortunate that most of us have to learn it the hard way. Diversify and have something to fall back on, or else when your cash flow gets fucked for whatever reason, say goodbye to your business and hi-ho, hi-ho, it's back under the thumb you go. Hope you don't have creditors... :(

In the meantime, it's time to start working your fucking ass off night and day. By the time you're able to settle down again, you'll probably be in a much better position than you were before.
