On the path to becoming fluent in HTML5, should I even bother with flash now?

I'm helping the University to switch all their online ads to html5. Essentially to make templates and and setups for all their graphic designers to plug their work into.

I will be learning and setting up adobe edge. They said they will not be using flash at all anymore so don't even thing about it.

Simple question: Is it worth learning flash indepth now? I already know the answer to some extent but maybe hearing someone bitch or call me out on something will cue me on a thing not previously thought about.

The facts are hundreds of millions of people surf the web daily on devices that don't support flash.

Yeap, and the whole point behind HTML5 is it is universal across devices (not all features our supported universally).
Flash can still do a lot of things html5 can't but it's going out, adobe has already hinted at that.

If only adult sponsors could understand that...

Seeing you speak, I would love to do that but it won't be happening this time.

Summer plans involve seeing my grandpa, turns 90 and will probably be one of the last times I see him in Florida. Then I will be busy all summer in Iowa.
Working with the school paper and tutoring Calculus I and II. Overall, relatively shitty pay!
I enjoy it though.

Aside from this Mike, I really enjoy reading your blog and will have to make an excuse to visit my uncle who lives in Atlanta, Georgia. It's about time to take part in one of those bukkake scenes.

"Adobe Systems confirmed in a blog post this morning that it will stop developing its Flash Player software for mobile Web browsers. In short, the company is acknowledging the growing role of HTML5 on mobile devices, and it is shifting its sights in that direction. The company will continue to develop new versions of Flash, in particular for PCs where the company sees strengths in gaming and video applications."
