Anyone using Piwik for server side stats?
How does it do. is it a hog on the resources?
|
Do a search. It has been discussed many times.
Yes, it does create additional load (like any script) but as long as your server is tuned properly it should work fine. I've had to troubleshoot high loads many times in the past and found that it's almost always either Apache running its default configuration or MySQL with insane settings for the server it's running on. |
I am all over the place with Piwik - One day I love it, the next it drives me nuts.
Make sure you read this - http://piwik.org/setup-auto-archiving/ |

Thanks I will. |
im trying it now on one site as a test seems to give good results but fuck it will take some time to roll out across all websites
|
Also don't do what I did, order a load of popunders and forget you had Piwik on the landing page.
I could smell the smoke from the server here in the UK. |

It works for me. Not seeing it really tax the server at all.
