Yeah 2003 was just insane getting $1.60 on the dollar. I live in Bermuda now and the Bermudian Dollar is pegged to the US dollar so it's always 1 to 1.
|
i know use to make 20% more money back 5 years a go :(
|
Most I ever got was 1.64, times sure have changed

Wood chopping economy, blame Timberland!

Yeah, made a fortune in sales in those days and the exchange rate helped to multiply everything too. It was fucking sweet.
|

I pay less than .015 off the spot price with TD's preferred rate USD account. (Borderless) |
I miss those days. We took a hell of a pay-cut these past years.
Hopefully things will swing back in our direction, eventually. |
I started getting my first checks in early 2004, and left Canada in mid 2005, so I guess I timed it right :1orglaugh
Sucks going back and getting less than par when I convert currency though. |
Yeah I miss those 1.65 days in early 2ks. Started in 96, I think it was around this as well. I feel old now...
|
fuck me that brings back good memories i always looked at the conversion as a bonus and there was so many bonuses

Imagine how the American companies that opened Canadian outposts to save on labor feel.
That was all the rage in call centers. Now it'd be cheaper to have them in Tulsa. |
Why wasn't I born 10 years earlier? :(
|
When I started in online adult it was $1.46 (late 90's). Watching that rise over the next couple of years to $1.55 and then $1.60 and beyond was.... sumptuous. I recall one day arriving at my bank and the teller informed me it was at $1.63. I moved $3K out of my US account into my Canadian acct. and got nearly $4800 CAD for it.
So yes, this below par crap sickens me. |
