So my g00gle gurus where does this leave...

Where does this new update leave bloggers, wp guys and seo after the update?

Build for the surfer

No clue, I haven't seen much changes except PR increases on some blogs.

AllAboutCams 05-03-2012 06:27 PM

nearly all my sites are at linkspun and google did not effect any of them, but i just dont see the point in taking that extra risk using something that google could easily follow link patterns between the network

I'd be more paranoid about all the garbage spam sites you link to with Plugrush than Linkspun. Not that you link directly to them but if enough terrible spam sites have the Plugrush widget in common and so do you then there you go.

The same exact thing could be said for any large ad network.

AdultKing 05-03-2012 07:26 PM

The last Google update had no effect on any of my sites, other than two mainstream sites that are now dominating page 1 for my targeted keywords. Build for people and not search engines.

That's true but PR in particular seemed to be scummy circlejerk site central when I tried it out. A good 80% of the pages were just nothing but popups and ads with absolutely no content.
It seems like it would be in everyone's best interest for networks to do a lot better quality control.

I know the build for people is thrown around alot, but what does that mean exactly, build for people? What are you supposed to do?

it means have a site were people want to come back
example
http://stocking-tease.com/
updated daily loads of choice no ads (apart from linking to galleries)

example of a bad page
http://www.ypornsex.com/horny-brunet...s-deep-fucked/
low quality design hardly no content ads all over would you want to return

Spend time on QUALITY, not inbound links!

:thumbsup

It's no problem if you build quality sites that surfers will love, sure there's always a chance of getting fucked by Google but it's much less of a chance if you're putting effort into making quality sites, blogs, whatever.

Correct. A loyal fanbase/userbase wont care where you rank in the SERPs :2 cents:

no offense to the owner of ypornsex but that page might be the worst damn thing I've ever seen in my life.

With Plugrush, you can block sites from trading with you that you don't like. They won't send you traffic, and you won't send them traffic. Who else offers this?

lucas131 05-04-2012 04:08 AM

finally this update is done and we can happily build another six months with no dancing, great!

V_RocKs 05-04-2012 07:26 AM

Usual bullshit... several went up... several went down... As time goes on several down are moving back up... Only time will tell.
