Whats PR really good for?
 

Man on linkspun there are so many pr whores its crazy. They have one site thats pr 2 or 3 and then all these subdomains with tons of links out. Pr doesnt mean anything to rank from what i see some of my highest pr sites get small traffic.

PR matters more for link building and also site sales.

Think of it like dick size. Some people are hung up on it, others not so much.

You should focus most of all on your site's brand and whether it delivers an experience the effectively builds loyalty.

People put so much stock into it I guess because there's really nothing else to go by other than manually reviewing each page (which is what you should do anyways). It truly is useless on its own and needs to just go away.

Spiders will crawl a page deeper if it has higher PR, not really sure what else it's for..

I like trading for traffic. Even though it's small in most cases, it's usually much more targeted.. :winkwink:

It just gives you something quick to look at, but really has little use these days. I think google just keeps it to fuck with people :2 cents:

The lower my PR went, the more traffic I got so that's that.

I have some sites that are 0's and 1's that get more Google traffic than sites some sites I have had that are 3,4,or 5...

And this last PR update, some sites that lost traffic in April went up in PR while sites that gained traffic went down in PR.. lol it's like there is no correlation between the two.. a total disconnect.

alot of people put their faith in it.. but i think it is overrated.

I have a domain that's PR 0 (maybe its PR 8 - I haven't checked in months) that I guarantee you gets more sales than 99% of the sites in LinkSpun combined.

Yet no-one there will link to it. Not one person. What a sad state of affairs.

Why does everyone think that PR alone should increase the amount of traffic to your site? If there aren't many people searching for your terms, higher PR won't help.. :upsidedow

One of my sites got bumped a higher PR the other day and that site is total shit I'll admit. RSS-fed blog, no SE traffic anymore, 100's of outgoing links, haven't made a nickel off it for 4 months and will probably just let the domain die when it expires. Basically worthless yet I get request after request for it simply due to the high PR.
