If this is true, it certainly signals the state of the industry. As if the last big keynote speech that raised some eyebrows wasn't enough.

Hey, I didn't write the article. They could easily say the queen or obama will be the key note speaker, however, what is the point for anointing him with even an honarary mention as the keynote speaker?

If the intention is to have him in handcuffs as he gets off the plane, I'm all for it.

Then there are those who are recognized as legit businessmen, who are fucking thieves, or do business with thieves or other unethical fucking cunts.

Well, it's the top story on the YNOT newsletter, and the article reads....

"According to AVN Chief Executive Officer Theo Sapoutzis, keynote speakers already committed include Yussef from Mansef (a forerunner to Manwin), and serial swindler and Megaupload founder Kim Dotcom."

I don't associate YNOT with being a fake news source, but much like the contents of this article, nothing would surprise me these days.

True, Ynot, as far as I know, has always been an accurate news source. I guess he could confirm that he is going to speak. It isn't until January so there is no telling where his case will be by then. Just because he has confirmed that he will speak doesn't mean he will show.

If his case is settled by then and he isn't in jail he could likely show up. If he is still fighting extradition I doubt he would.

The point is not wether he shows up or not....

The point is why would AVN allow or even encourage this type of figure to be a keynote speaker?

The other speaker the guy from Manwin which built their empire on the back of tubes filled with stolen content. Now that they are established and making bank and creating their own content they are sucking up to everyone else and changing their image.

The message in this business is clear. Feel free to fuck as many people over as you want on your way up, just buy drinks for the survivors when you get there and all is forgiven.

I'm holding onto the thought that it's just a joke.

It would be a HUGE backhand to the industry to have either Youseff and/or Kim Dotcom give the keynote. Even trying to get them is insulting to every honest person in the industry and should cost AVN every future advertising dollar they may make.

Why not get Chris Mallick while you're at it? Sure to draw a crowd.

My guess is that AVN seeded some mis-information knowing full well that YNOT would be falling all over themselves to rush the negative story to press. As a result YNOT ended up with the egg on their face and had to remove the story.
