A lot of people, myself included, expected every new tablet and mobile phone to be including 3D as standard within a couple of years. Doesn't look like that's going to happen this decade.

People don't want to jerk off to their big 3D Televisions in the family living room.

The red blue glasses will always be a tiny niche and not ideal for masturbating whilst wearing.

I think 3D, and hence 3D porn, will slowly grow as the technology improves, but it will take a long time. I hope the current handful of 3D sponsors are in it for the long haul.

3D is far from dead though. It's just that the hype was a little too much a little too early. Take a look at this article on HD TVs back in 1998 :

When 3d was becoming popular, couple of years ago, I thought live 3d cam sex will be big thing, so I bought some cam related domains like 3dadultchat, live3dsex, camshow3d etc.

However, up to date, only AWE has 3D stream section, but I've never seen any model live there :)
