Are there Apps that do this?
I'd like to be able to snap a photo with the phone of say a leaf (or maybe a bird) and it can tell me what it is. Does anything like this exist?
|
There is one for leaves - I was looking at it the other day.
I will see if I can find it in my history. |
Google Goggles if you're on Android. Doubt the have an iPhone version of that one, but it is possible.
|
I know Google is working on image recognition technology, but I haven't heard of any apps that have that capability yet, other than Google's "goggles." Never used it though.

Ideally I wanted to take a photo of a plant and have it be identified. While thinking about that, I thought it'd be cool to be able to do the same with birds.
The app store says Leafsnap doesn't exist. Can you find it? |
It'd be an interesting app to crowdsource. Snap an image, the "mob" identifies it. Top 3 answers are shown. Be prepared to see "your mom" hit the top answer quite a bit.
