Just got home from "Dark Shadows"

Another awesome movie from Tim Burton.. not quite Charlie And The Chocolate Factory or Alice in Wonderland, but freaking awesome still..

A lot funnier than the average of his movies.

It's kind of funny that your "awesome" benchmark for Tim Burton movies is Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and Alice in Wonderland.

I love the work that Burton and Depp do together, and Dark Shadows seems like the perfect vehicle (dark, campy, erotic).

My sister used to love watching the Dark Shadows TV series way back in the day. Although I generally disdain soap operas, I eventually started watching DS with her occasionally. I wish my sister lived nearby, as I would enjoy taking her to see the new Tim Burton film.

The reason they're used as the benchmark here is because they're in the lighter end of his spectrum of darkness - like Dark Shadows is.

So more comparable than let's say Sleepy Hollow

i am definitely going to watch that

If you watched the original SO its pretty entertaining if not its very mediocre

it tried to be campy and scary and in all honesty it only half succeeded on each count. It stuck pretty true to the feel of the original and for me that was its saving grace. Did see it in IMAX which was pretty cool...all in all I'd have liked it better with a bit more of a Beetlejuice feel

I saw it at the drive in last night, it was alright. They also played Avengers which I thought was better.

well if this is funny it will be a first for me with Tim Burton

I raced home from school to watch the original series way back when.I wanna see this one

I never saw the original but I did like the one from the early 90s(or was it late 80s?). I'm hoping Burton doesn't ruin it. This version seems too whimsical.

Don't think I'm gonna watch it :pimp
