Finger found in Arby's sandwich?

Is this for real?

http://shine.yahoo.com/shine-food/te...133500879.html

Ryan Hart, a 14-year-old boy from Michigan, had a rude surprise when he bit into his Arby's roast beef sandwich. "I was like, 'that's got to be a finger,'" he told the Jackson Citizen Patriot. "It was just nasty."

Reportedly, a restaurant employee cut off her finger with a meat slicer while preparing the meal. She left her station to deal with the emergency, and other employees, who were unaware of the injury, continued to complete the order.

"Somebody loses a finger and you keep sending food out the window," said the teen's mom, Jamie Vail. "I can't believe that." She added that following the gruesome discovery, her son was "traumatized," couldn't eat or sleep, and had been prescribed medication Fox News reports.

Do I understand this correctly? She sliced off her finger, and her fellow employees knew something was wrong but had no idea she had cut off her finger... Just finished making the sandwich? With a finger in it?

a new twist to "giving you the finger"

I guess so... I always thought their bulbble-slices of "roast beef" "au jus" were suspicious at best...

:D

How does someone not realize they are missing a finger?

How the f*ck do you cut off your finger and not freak out and scream letting everyone in the small kitchen at the fast food restaurant know? I would think cutting one's finger off would be a fairly big ordeal.

Talk about "the show must go on."

Actually you'd be surprised. My Dad cut off his pointer finger at the middle knuckle using a table saw. He saw all of this blood but couldn't figure out where it was coming from until he looked down and saw his finger hanging there by a thread.

Adrenaline.

First instinct for most people would be to locate the missing piece in case it could be reattached

I can see that also if is quick and the blade was sharp and going into shock not knowing or feeling it happened. That little boy hit the lottery.

The girl knew she cut her finger off. The problem is she ran from the machine to tend to it and didn't tell anybody else what had happened. Her coworkers continued slicing delicious Arby's roast beef.

This is actually fairly common. I just figured when the article said "she left her station" someone would question it. Regardless this kid is going to get an awesome settlement.
