Toyota Automobile Museum (pics)

Thursday we went to a Chamber of Commerce mixer that was held at the Toyota Automobile Museum, which is the only Toyota museum outside Japan. They had some pretty cool cars.

All the photos can be found at http://www.gotbaddog.com/toyota-automobile-museum/ - here are a few samples

I have yet to see a Toyota that interested me... Not sure why. They just do nothing for me.

I just got back from shooting the parade. If I have time tomorrow I am planning on hitting the exhibit.

While I have your attention, can you think of a brew pub around here I may not know of?

I hate Red Car, RBBC has some great brews. I have been visiting different places every day for American Craft Beer Week and have found some amazing spots. Today, The Rockefeller and Abigaile. Both well worth the visit.

That was a pretty trippy car. Had to stop and really look at it just to decide which way was front

Where is this museum? I see you're in Socal, so am I. Is it located down here?

It is in Torrance by their headquarters.

Now they have a new one. The GT-86 is a nice little sports car for the crowd.

Love the ripped graphics on this one. Cool effect.

It's funny how they have a museum for Toyotas...yet you rarely (if ever) see anyone restoring old ones to show off at car shows - at least not shows I've ever been to over the years.

Same with the early Datsuns - most of which rusted out and were a bitch to restore due to their uni-body construction. You might see the odd Z series here and there, but the rest seem religated to the history pages.

Nice shots. Looks like an interesting place, though.

I don't know about that, there is an enormous following of Datsuns - the ability to drop in late model engines (FJ/CA/SR) and develop a tonne of power in a tiny car makes them extremely popular.

Z's are popular however 510s have their place too along with the baby 1200s and utes etc.
