There are no sides a kid is dead by a guy who had a violent history. Now people have to make the kid a demon to justify George killing him. There are alot of recent pictures he looks like a regular teenage not a monster.

They struggled. No matter how small or big the struggle...there was going to be DNA. I don't know where you heard that there was none. That makes no sense at all if there was any contact at all.

I don't think it really matters who the aggressor is. One man was unarmed and that is where the problem is.

I'm sure that GZ was scared when the bigger black guy started kicking his ass. But if we all drew a gun and shot to death somebody every time we got scared...

I think the prosecutor is ultimately the one who has screwed the case up. She got scared of all the insanity from the black leadership and was afraid of violence erupting.

So she has "over-charged" the case in my opinion. And now if the jury doesn't find him guilty of everything...the black community will be outraged and the bad parts of it will use it as an excuse to riot (and loot and rob every business in the community).

The whole thing is a nightmare. Zimmerman should have stayed in his truck. But I can't honestly say what I would have done in the same situation.
I probably would have gotten out too and confronted Martin. But I'm big enough that most times when I confront folks it doesn't turn into a fight.

Zimmerman was too little (short) to be confronting someone. Which probably led to a pissed off Martin deciding to kick his ass.

So instead of a conversation, it became a fist fight. And GZ brought a gun to a fistfight and we all know what happened.

Hang on a minute...I think that Zimmerman obviously didn't "confront" him correctly. If you or anybody else came up to me all cocky and demanded what i was doing...I'd tell you "fuck off, it's a free country"

Now if you came up to me and politely explained that there had been some robberies in the neighborhood and you were the Neighborhood Watch...Then I would politely explain that I was walking to the house and thank you for keeping an eye on the neighborhood.

But nobody has to explain shit to anybody else.

I think that GZ probably didn't approach him with the correct attitude. (short guys are always over aggressive anyway in my experience) Then TM, being young and full of testosterone, felt disrespected and started kicking his ass.

It was obviously a bad situation all the way around.
I'm guessing that the gun gave GZ a false sense of bravado and he should have just stayed in the truck. But hindsight IS 20/20

And now a young man is dead. GZ's life is over too. And both families are ruined.

Not that being in a neighborhood watch is "man's job", but for the sake of argument lets lump it in with other police-type work. These kind of jobs require an actual man who can handle situations. People get shot (and tazed) when scared little boys are trying to do a man's job. A lot of cops fall into this category also. They're ready to use deadly force at any moment that there's even a possibility of bodily harm coming to them.

I was adult enough to say I made a mistake. You want to see this kid as a monster to rationalize George blowing him away be my guest. Police generally react to a situation as they are trained to do...some don't.

Absolutely always wrong in any situation. If he's beating you down to point you think he may kill you, you at the attacker, the center of the target, not try a trick shot at a moving limb. If you're NOT in fear for you life or greivous bodily harm, you don't shoot at all.

Shooting at center mass with the intent to stop the attacker as quickly and surely as possible may be self defense. Trying to wound someone is aggravated mayhem.
