How do I install ioncube loader on a shared host?

I am sure I have put ioncube loader into a directory on a shared server and had scripts run it from there.

I cant remember how I did it now - I have been playing with it for ages...

Anyone know?

Its a shared host that I use for SEO blogs and testing stuff out, they have an old version on the server and I doubt I can get them to upgrade anytime soon. I need the new version to get a site running.

Its not even that important - Just annoying because I know I should be able to do it.

im 99% sure you cant just install it on a shared hosting account its something that has to be installed for the whole server.

Ask your host to install it. You cant do it yourself on a shared host.

Not worth it - I will just do it on another account - Its just that I wasted ages trying and I was sure I had done it before.

that is something you will have to ask your host to do for you ... should only take a couple minutes ...

As stated above, your host has to do it for you if it is not already enabled (are you getting an error)?

well it really depends on your system setup...

if you use it just on one site on the server a custom php.ini will make a runtime loader work fine and it won't run on all other sites (if those do not require it).
on the other site if you need it for all sites - than you could add that to main php.ini

if you need it done - let me know
