What a turn around - MS advertising IE9....

MS are advertising IE9 on prime time TV in the UK.

Its funny how things turn out......

Chrome and FF woke it up.

Also, IE's gotten a reputation in the past as a spyware magnet...

why not?

Google is advertising Chrome on its front page, bundles it with software, and advertises it on Adwords and via banners

Not saying it is wrong - Just interesting that the game has changed so much in such a short time.

Now that they are aggressively using Bing to try to monetize IE usage, it became a revenue generating product instead of whatever the fuck it was before...

I'm always curious as to who uses Internet Explorer. I don't know anyone that does. Even my parents use Chrome.

chrome all the way. I used to use FF but got tired of crashes.

I think that is what I thought was 'odd' about the ad. Anyone who has enough technical knowledge to change their default browser to (back to) IE knows the reasons why they should not.

My mum doesn't even know there is an IE, FF and Chrome. As long as she can log on to EBay and buy crap she is blissfully unaware.

scottybuzz 05-21-2012 02:04 PM

a lot of corporate organisations still use IE.

candyflip 05-21-2012 04:18 PM

As of yesterday Chrome is the #1 browser used. They gotta get back some of that 96% marketshare they once had.

Diomed 05-21-2012 05:56 PM

Geeze,

I still use Firefox.

Guess I need to get with the times.

uniquemkt 05-21-2012 06:14 PM

When I was still working for The Man, they were 100% an IE shop. If a vendor had a web-based app that did not support IE, we looked elsewhere. Personally, I wish IE would just disappear so I could stop writing bogus js and css to make it act right.
