4th man in history to go over Niagara Falls and...

...survive without a barrel.

Yep - another failed suicide in our neck of the woods earlier today.

Niagara Parks Commission (which runs their own police force) made it illegal long ago under the 'stunting act' to go over the Falls. It's designed to deter others from attempting to go over the Falls and place rescuers in jeopardy having to fish their sorry carcass out.

Charges to this (suicide) guy likely won't happen - but they typically say that to the media to remind the public of the option.

A waterproof GoPro would've netted him a bonus viral video on YouTube for sure! :thumbsup

Missed opportunities.

At least he has health insurance provided by the Canadian government.

He would have been fucked if he washed up on the American side.

facialfreak 05-21-2012 04:53 PM

He has not survived just yet ....

His injuries are still life-threatening.

Well...he DID survive the plunge.

He may not survive our current health care system here in Niagara.

?He was conscious. He understood what we were saying to him,? Gallagher said, but added the man didn?t communicate very well with his rescuers

I wonder why ?

That fuck should be charged for every penny it took to get his sorry ass to safety and for the fact that others risked themselves to save his shit stain of a life, fish food!

Not to mention Homeland Security would be all over his ass - toss him in Guantanimo without charges or trial as a terror suspect.

Then the IRS would come after him claiming he owed taxes from the profits he made from selling the story to CNN, FoxNews and Oprah.

It's not a new thing. I've seen old newspaper stories where people had to appear in court for attempted suicide. Names and all.

That is plain stupid - unless of course it is designed so that suicide wannabe's plan on getting it right the first time so they do not have to suffer the mental anguish of going to court etc afterwards.

Also think about how absurd it is, for a person to not even have control of their own life.

I guess when you've failed at life...then failed at suicide - having to show up in court is just icing on the cake. :1orglaugh

Judge: "Sir, why did you attempt suicide?"
Plaintiff: "After losing all my life's savings as a porn webmaster, I was broke your honor."
Judge: "Your fine will be $450 for recklessly endangering the safety of rescue workers who saved you."
Plaintiff: "What part of broke did you fail to understand?"
Judge: "I'm giving you 60 days to pay it."
Plaintiff: "Good...that should be enough time for another suicide attempt your honor."
Judge: "So be it. Get it right next time. Last time I want to see you in my courtroom."
