VIXEN ESCORTS 05-25-2012 05:28 PM

Well this is a first Dvtimes and Facebook on a par, both full of shit. That valuation is mentally insane, $4BN turnover and a $1BN profit, so that's 100 times earnings on a 25% margin, which seems a pretty good margin, double the margin and it's still 50 times earnings which is still mental. Nah I'm putting everything into Lonhro

FB boasts 900 million "friends".

Is that 900 million registered?

Or 900 million posters?

Or 900 million posters or readers?

Or 900 million posters or readers and clickers on ads?

Or 900 million posters or readers and clickers on ads who buy something?

DaLord 05-26-2012 02:41 AM

Of course not. Christ what a stupid question.

Mike

howard 05-26-2012 08:31 AM

I did at $34. I use a 20% down rule. If it hits $28 or so I am out. But my thinking is where will the stock be in 10 years so I am hoping to hold a long time..

I think they use a drop down box for date of birth and the years don't go back that far. He probably can't get on Facebook.

uhhh, remember who came in and destroyed something called myspace? The same thing will happen to facebook by the next one. I seriously doubt it will be worth $2 in $10 years.

How many members did MySpace have? Revenue per year? Facebook makes 8x what MySpace sold for. How long did it stay dominant? How long has Facebook been dominant?

Apple overtook Microsoft, Google overtook Yahoo, etc. Your argument makes no sense as it could apply to ANY company.

DBS.US 05-26-2012 12:03 PM

Don't use Facebook, didn't buy Facebook.

Yeah but that was 8 years ago and Google are far more diverse, Youtube, Search, Analytics and probably a load of other sites I don't even know about. Facebook is essentially just social network, where their existing users just become blind to advertising (like when you Sky Plus and speed through the commercials) and their new markets are going to be much harder work. CLUE....maybe that's why they floated now :))

How many products did Google have in 2004? They were in search and just getting into Email.

Exactly, you must be an idiot to buy so overpriced stock. On the other hand those people who bought have money and if they have money at least some of them are not idiots. So this gets a little bit confusing. :2 cents:
