A SHIT ton of questions, anyone got answers

1. outside of the basic forms for 2257 and contract with a model, are there any other legal ramifications or issues with filming etc?

2. Do you plan your scenes down to the T or is there alot of improv, I plan on making a rough scene plan for each, and then going on the fly from there

3. Do you just use basic 3 point lighting, or something crazier than that

4. How about content: do you do more solo shoots, or does hardcore couple stuff sell more to online buyers

5. What is a fair price, if I have a model come in for a quick test shoot, about an hour or so?

6. How about POV'S do prices change for tihs or is it about the same?

7. Video camera: I'm going to buy a sony nexvg20 I think, but I am also looking at a canon vixia, what do you reccomend, I'm definetly going with something professional

8. stills vs. video? what did you do more of, what sells more?

9. I'm thinking hotel rooms (upscale) for my shoots, is this good/bad? I really don't have elsewhere to shoot and I think this would be okay with lighting etc what do you think?

Welcome :-)
Plenty of people are willing to help around here - it could help them to help you, though, if you started with a short introduction of what you have in mind.

Reason is, there is no one-size-fits-all for most of your questions.
(e.g.: lighting may be crucial for some glamour styles, and absolutely pointless for other styles; hotel rooms are more than good for certain things and bad for others, etc. etc)

good luck!

I'm looking into filming content for solo girls masturbation etc. that's about all.

All I have to say is good luck with the solo girl stuff...I did a site a little over a year ago. I worked non-stop, I got off my day job and went straight to work promoting the site until bedtime (even promoting on my phone during the day). Then did it again the next day. It eventually dragged me down and burned me out. That and the model quit to start stripping instead. Getting people to sign up for a solo site is tough. One girl, all the time, doing the same thing everytime. It's rough, you need to have the girl build a relationship with the members, to make them think they're the only member and she only wants them to stay a member. That's how you get them.
Now as for your questions. Lets see if I remember anything when I did this.

1. outside of the basic forms for 2257 and contract with a model, are there any other legal ramifications or issues with filming etc?

Not that I found, in fact, I was never contacted for any legal paperwork. If I'm wrong, please correct me anyone.

2. Do you plan your scenes down to the T or is there alot of improv, I plan on making a rough scene plan for each, and then going on the fly from there.

This is what we did, it's solo girl so there's only so much you can do right?

3. Do you just use basic 3 point lighting, or something crazier than that.

Ours was an "amateur solo girl site" so lighting wasn't a big deal for us. We wanted our members to think they were getting the girl in the apartment above them.

4. How about content: do you do more solo shoots, or does hardcore couple stuff sell more to online buyers.

Solo is tough.

5. What is a fair price, if I have a model come in for a quick test shoot, about an hour or so?

Not sure, I knew the model prior to starting the site so we did a 50/50 split. NEVER do that. The webmaster does ALL, and I mean ALL the work on a low budget solo girl site. All she does is pose and masturbate a few times. You sit at a computer for hours on end.

6. How about POV'S do prices change for tihs or is it about the same?

Not sure.

7. Video camera: I'm going to buy a sony nexvg20 I think, but I am also looking at a canon vixia, what do you reccomend, I'm definetly going with something professional/

Haven't used either.

8. stills vs. video? what did you do more of, what sells more?

Video, none of our members mentioned our stills, they always complemented the videos.

9. I'm thinking hotel rooms (upscale) for my shoots, is this good/bad? I really don't have elsewhere to shoot and I think this would be okay with lighting etc what do you think?

Bring your own sheets and try not to make it look like a hotel room. Unless that's what your going for of course.

With what I could answer, I hoped this helped. Don't forget to drive out to the middle of nowhere and do "public" shoot/video. Those were our top vids to our members. We pulled off the road and hiked into some hills and did our thing.
Good luck! :thumbsup

This helps, however by "solo" girl I mean, something where we get multiple girls for different shoots doing tons of different scenes. I'm talking about having like fifteen -20 new girls a month on the website playing with themselves, and me THE PRODUCER, would make all the content then sell it to buyers of big production houses like brazzers and naughty america. What do you think of that business model?

For the legal docs best to talk with an attorney.

pantyfreek 06-11-2012 11:05 AM

My site is all about the panty fetish, so this might help you.

1. outside of the basic forms for 2257 and contract with a model, are there any other legal ramifications or issues with filming etc?

Basic 2257 and contract with a copy of driver's license or state ID, MUST HAVE PICTURE. It is best to take a picture of the girl holding the license.

2. Do you plan your scenes down to the T or is there alot of improv, I plan on making a rough scene plan for each, and then going on the fly from there

We make rough scenes, but it is best when the model does what she is comfortable with and is not trying to remember a script.

3. Do you just use basic 3 point lighting, or something crazier than that

4. How about content: do you do more solo shoots, or does hardcore couple stuff sell more to online buyers

Almost all solo shoots. Once in a while a model will want to do a scene with a friend. Hardcore stuff does not sell in the panty/solo masturbation niche

5. What is a fair price, if I have a model come in for a quick test shoot, about an hour or so?

We don't do "test shoots" We meet them and look at what other work they may have done. If they make the grade, they get a shoot date. Price depends on where you are.... up here in Maine $225 for a 2 hour, 10 outfit shoot is generous. A 30 minute masturbation scene usually pays around $250.

6. How about POV'S do prices change for tihs or is it about the same?

Not sure what you are talking about.

7. Video camera: I'm going to buy a sony nexvg20 I think, but I am also looking at a canon vixia, what do you reccomend, I'm definetly going with something professional

We are just using amateur equipment because of the costs involved with pro equipment.

8. stills vs. video? what did you do more of, what sells more?

A combination of both!

9. I'm thinking hotel rooms (upscale) for my shoots, is this good/bad? I really don't have elsewhere to shoot and I think this would be okay with lighting etc what do you think?

Hotel rooms can be very..ummm...boring. Try doing shoots outside, interesting places, the model's bedroom. Mix it up. A few hotel rooms won't hurt, but try not to make it standard.

Hope that helps! ~Christy
