Skyrim?

What is the big deal about this game? I decided to rent it from Redbox and check it out. I sat through the first 20 mins of this garbage hoping that something interesting would happen. But it's nothing but shitty graphics, shitty character movement, their speech lags and doesn't match up with the movement sometimes and just looks like garbage just like every other game with movie sequences from the last 20 years. I am a very patient person and I could hardly stand this after 5 minutes. I honestly can't believe people make a big deal over a game like this.. I want those 20-30 mins of my life back. I tolerated the stupidity just enough to get to the part where the dragon thing is flying over the village and then threw in the towel because I have no idea what to do and could care less. This game is fucking stupid LOL.

You need a computer that's not from 1995 to run the game and make it look good :thumbsup

Deej 05-29-2012 04:00 AM

Its actually a pretty damn good, in depth, game.

Your patience isnt what your think of it.

It's popular because not only its another elder scroll(I was never into the previous) but it has a new fan dangled engine (creative) that has features not seen in games before. If you gave it time youd see some of these things. How the environment reacts to you and what youve done. The story is LONG and in depth. Most games you can play and beat in under 10 hours. This one takes over 30 and thats for one way of doing the game. YOu 'can' play the game 3 seperate times and have a different story.

That and you can be a werewolf...

You gotta be one of the dumbest fucks to ever lay his hands on that game, if you claim the graphics sucks, ect. It has aced excellent reviews all over. Graphics are just amazing. As suggested, buy a decent machine instead of whining.

Deej 05-29-2012 04:15 AM

Pretty sure hes playing either xbox or ps3 guys...

candyflip 05-29-2012 04:20 AM

If you spent 20-30 minutes you didn't even get through the opening sequence. This is a game that takes HUNDREDS of hours to complete.

You didn't give it enough time. It really doesn't pick up for a few hours...which sucks for getting new people into the game. Most people don't wan to wait that long for the fun to begin.

Seth Manson 05-29-2012 04:41 AM

Woohoo I'm playing Diablo III. And I'm naked.

bronco67 05-29-2012 06:11 AM

Sounds like you have the attention span of a fly. I don't think this game is for you.

I don't have enough time to take on these epic quest games, so I stick with ones that take no more than 7 or 8 hours total. Check out Prototype 2. I've been playing that one, and it's been great so far.

Haven't played...

Choopa_Pardo 05-29-2012 06:27 AM

I LOVE Skyrim. Fantastic, immersive game. I might buy 1-2 games a year max, so I want them to give me more than 10 hours of game play. I've finished all the main quest lines, and most of the minor ones as well. Ready to start a new character build, actually.

If you threw in the towel after 30 minutes, then that's you're own fault. You missed out.

Skyrim rocks ass. Play it on a PC with 1g or more graphics card. Play for more than one hour.

mavruda 05-29-2012 06:35 AM

The game is absolute hit - outstanding with great idea, great story, different characters/races - ability and development of your character : skills, abilities, actions.
There's basically one mission the player should finish, but during the travel, the player meets different people/characters and he's able to choose to help them or not - this gives additional quests- completing the whole experience. The true dragonborn /as character it is by default should have the ability of shouts - and thus to make his skills more powerful and great. Every successfully finished quest gives the player new weapons, armor, experience - which can be divided in skills tree like points. Also you can have companions to join your quest and help you with the tasks. Unfortunately the AI that commands them are making them dull as sack of nails and they often are standing your way between you and the enemy. Killing your companion by accident, or accepting a task to kill someone /hired assassin/ is one of the features of game - puts some bad karma on your character, but that's the greatness of the game. You have the choice of what kind of guy you want to be - in game.

I've played the game - but never finished it, because my sex life got better and started to get it more than once a month.
Now I'm playing World of tanks. The sad thing is that I become very good with that game....

CIVMatt 05-29-2012 06:39 AM

One of the best games I've ever played

Fap 05-29-2012 06:57 AM

Just a fun RPG game

MrBottomTooth 05-29-2012 07:02 AM

The game is great. You are obviously not an RPG fan.

I admit the load times are brutal on the xbox though.

CunningStunt 05-29-2012 07:19 AM

You "could care less" means your care less factor is > 0.

The correct phrase most of you dipshits (with poor education in the US) get wrong is:

I "couldn't care less."

I've played about 140 hours on that game, it's brilliantly scripted, aesthetics are incredible, AI fairly adaptive (set it on hard), and I still have a few missions left after completing the main story line.

Maybe you should stick to dumbed down games you can beat in 10 hours on easy. The attention span of people like you obviously means there's a MASS market for moron games.

I applaud game manufacturers like Bethesda for not ripping off their customers like so many others do. Some players have spent 200+ hours on that game. Most PS3 games you can easily finish in 20 hours even if you are a chimp connected to a controller.

Hi Jakez, it's good to be back here after a sabbatical.

Yep, xbox 360. I have a nice PC that would be able to do the game justice but Redbox unfortunately doesn't rent PC games.

I understand the game can be amazing if you get into it, that's why I rented it. But I at least expected something interesting to happen within 30 minutes that would make me say "wow this game is awesome". But that didn't happen and I just got bored fast. Guess RPG's aren't my thing, I'll just stick to my Battlefield 3 on PC. :)

Skyrim is cool. On High settings here the graphic is pretty good.
What I love about SKyrim is the freedom. Haven't done shit on the mainquest, just fooling around and make hell wherever I can.

Great game

You must be an RPG fan to even begin to play. This isn't Madden, bro. :2 cents:

I feel you, there. You like fast-pace games (which is cool). I like battlefield, too. Still havent beat the campaign, though. :Oh crap

Forgot to say,
I prefer Fallout:New Vegas though. (Bethesda; Same company)

I have played Morrowind, Oblivion, and now Skyrim. Out of the three, Skyrim I found the hardest to get into, I will admin the opening scene stuff didn't really get me that excited. I am not sure why because on paper almost being executed and dragons sounds great but I did not find the start very good. After that I was hooked like the other games, it is excellent.

The action in Bethesda games doesn't arrive the instant you put the disc in. It's definitely a game for personalities that are very curious to fully explore the whole environment, the people in it and develop their character.

Skyrim is one of those games that you'd immerse yourself into over several days play, just to get going.

You type this illiterate shit and have the nerve to call somebody else a dumb fuck? Go fanboy somewhere else - and lurn 2 rede and tipe wile UR at it.

If you're so fucking ecstatic over this game (and Bethesda releases more broken, unfinished games than Blizzard and EA combined - ok, that's a bit of an exaggeration) - buy him a machine that will run SkyRim maxed out so he can share your unwarranted enthusiasm for an unfinished, broken game that hopes the modding community will make complete.

Bethesda spends more money on voice acting than they do on game development. And it all just gets shot in the knee. The game gets great reviews because people play the game for a few hours, see a dragon, and think. "OMG! This Gamez Rockzors!" To get a REAL handle on the game, you need to play it for HUNDREDS of hours.

Or just shut up and fuck off. Even the modding community is going back to Oblivion. Maybe SkyRim will work in a few years once the few remaining modders who care about it release an Unofficial Patch or eight. Beth won't ever fix this game. They'll release expansions - they won't make it stable, though.

Crashedy-crash-crash. Crashedy-crash-crash. Look at Crashy go!

Here's the underground version

sleazydoesit 06-03-2012 07:18 AM

I dunno shit about the game but the name Skyrim annoys me because I live in Korea where "r" in English is usually translated as a Korean "L" sound, so Skyrim actually reads like Skylim and then I'm like wait, that sounds really fucked up

arock10 06-03-2012 08:38 AM

I played skyrim for a long time and liked it but Dark Souls somewhat ruined it for me. The combat and just intense battles are waaaay better and more solid then Skyrims flailing about with a sword. Also I found skyrim way too easy. But anyway, diablo 3 is out just play that. And if you just like FPS games just skip them both cause you'll never understand it

Feel free to add me arock#1480 for d3

Caiaphas 06-03-2012 09:01 AM

"Skyrim" is a great game. There is some really sinister shit going on in some of the quests.

CurrentlySober 06-03-2012 09:51 AM

My mom tells me that I'm not allowed to play games like that... :(

Kaja.Candidlooks 06-18-2015 07:06 AM

Skyrim is awesome and its much better with all the skimpy mods! Spent a lot time on this game :)

PR_Glen 06-18-2015 07:23 AM

i'm a patient man and i played it for 30 mins?? haha

come on man
