So, AFF, who do I talk to about your spamming?

I use specific email addresses when I sign up for sites. With AFF, I imaginatively used AFF at domain.com

So that way I know if I get spammed where it originated from.

My question is are you sending out illegal spam (no opt out, no address etc) like this, or did you just sell my email address to spammers?

Eitherway, it's not a good look...

You'd expect anything less from those scumbags?

Hey Damian,

Send me that email you got. I'll see what I can find. we only cross promote our other sites and that's not our email template. I'd like to see where the links go. bsimpson @ ffn.com

scottybuzz 05-30-2012 02:09 PM

maybe a spammer typed in that email address randomly? hahaha and just by chance it was yours

Oh that's just one of hundreds I've got to that address. Some seem slightly more legit and at least appear to have an opt out, but they certainly weren't sent from you.

I'll send you the email with the headers, I look forward to your explanation.

It sounds like you just answered your own question....

I'd make up an email address a little bit harder to guess. Like aff84965 or something...

uniquemkt 05-30-2012 06:45 PM

agreed, I always use the whole domain name. The random email spambots will get short ones.

I agree.

I would say aff@ anydomain is in almost every spammers list of guess emails

that and
sales
info
webmaster
news
etc....................

Rogue employee

rowan 05-30-2012 07:05 PM

I add the current year to make the username a little more unique, eg "aff2012"

react 05-30-2012 09:17 PM

I have had several test accounts with AFF over the last 10+ years and have had no spam from them, ever. Move along.

TheSquealer 05-30-2012 09:18 PM

If Zango taught us anything, its that you can count on AFF to answer honestly.

glowlite 05-30-2012 09:33 PM

Tell me it ain't so ...

Spammers in the "adult industry" ?
And certainly not AFF.

Can't be true ... :upsidedow

yeap, there's a good chance it was a wildcard spam attempt. We get them too.
