How much does it normally cost..?

How much does it normally cost to have someone move a domain(s) to another host with a wordpress multisite set up and a weird ass fucking heirarchy. I normally do this myself, but I'm supposed to be writing a screenplay for an idea I pitched and got money up front for so I don't know if I'll have the time.

Oh, Plus there is no ssh any longer on the host I am moving it from and they are a fucking pain in my ass all of a sudden.

BIGTYMER 05-30-2012 11:16 AM

I'm sure someone here would do it for around $20.

Well then you'll have to wait for someone to offer their services. I'm not a genie.

smutnut 05-30-2012 11:20 AM

New idea.

How much to check out this site and make sure it's optimized and my host isn't just trying to get everyone to upgrade to a virtual server. I feel I should be using way less resources than I'm getting from other hosting accounts and this ass jack is just trying to get me to upgrade.

Granted I will ultimately have to do something if he is this petty, but will do it with someone else for sure.

I'm serious about paying someone to check this out at least for me, but not going to get ass jacked please LOL. I will send you money if you have paypal account and it lets me use my credit card as it has done it past.

I want to know what happened cause all of a sudden I'm using to many resources and taxing their CPU and I don't even have anything on the hun.

No problem. I'll just move it myself and call their bluff. Done it one hundred times in the past.

smutnut 05-30-2012 11:30 AM

This is actually more work than just moving it myself LOL

anexsia 05-30-2012 11:39 AM

Have you tried hitting up the web host that you're moving to? I only ask because a lot of hosts will move your sites for free.

I'm going to throw it on godaddy I think. I don't really care, but I still get a few sign ups from some of the sponsors these domains promote. Otherwise I would just let it all go to hell.

Godaddy has ssh and dedicated ip for shared hosting. I know everyone here hates them and I don't blame them, but it's cool when you don't give a shit or am trying to gradually weed out of the biz.

By the way, don't use Pacific Host. They will suck your dick when you start but fuck you good in the end.

candyflip 05-30-2012 11:51 AM

New host should be able to do it no problem.

Do you have any screenplays you haven't done anything with? And if so, would you do anything with them?

Or maybe not cause I really have no one checking and don't have the time to check myself so am just going to move if no cheap rocket scientist will help me out.

smutnut 05-30-2012 11:56 AM

Also i don't really know what to check. I just know to move when you start getting emails from your host LOL.

candyflip 05-30-2012 12:00 PM

Certified Hosting is dirt cheap and they will take care of this for you.

they will move a multisite EXACTLY as it is with subdomains and domain mapping plug in and weird hierarchy with directory galleries?

And it will all be peachy in the end?

barcodes 05-30-2012 12:25 PM

Doesn't GoDaddy charge you for like every other extra thing, like email addresses, etc...?
I could be wrong or they could have changed it but I thought I remembered them charging you for every little thing other than space.

woj 05-30-2012 12:33 PM

if you still need someone, hit me up, icq: 33375924

Godaddy doesn't charge dick for dick. They are my back up host always because they are so simple and when I don't know where to go or dont' care about a domain I always go there.

smutnut 05-30-2012 12:36 PM

Just added you to my ICQ. Have to get back to watching True Blood cause that's the tone I need for the writing I am supposed to be doing. If you can at least check on these resources that would be cool

I didn't have a huge amount of stuff to move, but they did do just this for me recently.

Certified Hosting required the following information to be able to transfer your website:
1) Previous Host Server IP
2) cPanel Username (if applicable)
3) cPanel Password (if applicable)

If you do not have cpanel at your previous host, it is OK, we can still attempt move your files.
Please provide the following:

1) FTP Host Name
2) FTP Username
3) FTP Password
4) PHPMyAdmin Info (if you have databases that need to be moved)
