Which of these Bad 4U Foods do you eat REGULARLY? (Multi vote option)

Friendly poll to help us quit eating junk we know is bad :)

To help us go on the Dont Buy It Diet which in theory would work but if you do the shopping as I do is VERY hard to do.

Mostly for us "slightly older" :) guys cause I know you guys under 25 can eat anything in QUANTITY hehe :thumbsup :thumbsup Ya bastards :)

Alright you all know I am brilliant behind the kb LOL J/K But fact is I am WEAK in one area of life. Diet.

Specificly I keep buying the same crap foods over and over.........

My Weak Spots

Foods I consider bad, make me feel crappy, put weight on easily and should GO but, I eat them regularly anyhow :(

beef Included only out of fairness to pork and chicken (below) and cause of lots of saturated fat. I eat either, 3 eggs OR a Taco beef/cheese/onion/taco sauce to start evey day.

I need my beef. Seriously. Eating beef (with some chedded melted over.. lol cant lie :) ) pulled me from my mayo/corn syrup induced funk today. More below.

beer ok I know this should not be here :) BUT as Tiny Tim said it IS "liquid bread" lol 3/day is 450+ calories and you are not gonna lose any weight no matter what.

bread I suspect ALL is bad except only "100% whole wheat" which taste like eh sawdust. I eat it sometimes but ANY bread with Gluton or refined wheat has to go!

butter only use it to fry or scramble eggs (almost daily :( ) I suspect aside from pure oils like olive, this is the best "spread" to use. Ya cant beat butter right? :)

cheese mostly chedder of course, I wont eat sour cream cause it is "fattening and bad for you" but I cant live without a fair amount daily. hehe Somewhere I got brainwashed :)

In fact "govt cheese" is right on :thumbsup If you are ever poor to where you cant buy groc like you want, you realize CHEESE is what you most want. Seriously :) No I never got any :) Do they still give out cheese? But I WANT some free cheese :)

chicken There is a reason they call it fowl. Ya know that taste you get when this is digesting? Something not right here. Needs a ton of seasoning tio hide the "fowl" taste that lies benesth. Have to wash your hand like a mofo after touching it raw. Not real good although I eat it cause it is also very cheap around here.

corn chips these also poor people (like me :) ) buy a ton of cause they scream VALUE. More oil. In theory not bad and actually you feel ok after these but included as with all the oils.. not good for you.

corn syrup "slices" lol oh them fucken gooey, CHEAP, nausiating bastards are my current nemesis plus all the gummys, red licorice.. corn syrup and wheat lol GREAT for your wasteline! Only eat it late late. Worst time, but I crave it..

infact I JUST remembered, during my nap today after mowing and three days work (caught up to me, more later) I woke up went, sleepwalked and had 3 cherry slices and went back to bed with all that in my teeth, I didnt care, I need it somehow. I am addicted. A BAD addiction WORSE than drugs. When I woke up I felt like SHIT.. more later under Mayonaiise lol)

dairy (all) I only use milk for oatmeal and a lil for Buddy my cat. He likes it. Farm cat :) But I suspect dairy free and sugar free would solve all my woes BUT good luck cutting them out but maybe some of you did. We'll see.

eggs 3 per day sometimes to start a day. Umm these seem ok but maybe too much cholesterol and tough to cook a good egg without a fair amt of oil unless hardbolied which ya know.. if something cost me good money I am gonna eat it how is best.. which leads to the link between groc budget and foods you buy but you already read too much :) )

Vjo 05-30-2012 07:46 PM

frozen pizza :) I gave this up for the last few weeks YEAH! The crust is KILLER. I mean killer like you dead. :) From weighing 500 LBS. So if you dont eat the crust which I never do.. eh not too bad.. ton of nitrites, sat fat and processed meats.

mayonaisse even the spelling is nausiating. This shit is seriously poisen. And FATTENING as a mofo!

I mowed earlier. Had a chix/onion/celery (chicken salad) thing with too much cheap mayo (Great Value :) ) and took a nap. Woke up feeling like SHIT! Been there? :) (I also realized I sleepwalked and mixed in 3 "slices" as I said above :( )

Only one thing works then :stoned :) Fucking mayo has to go.

msg :) (monosodium glutamate) oh yeah! I get seriously fucked up on msg. Like a bad drug. For real. Espec the asian rices have a ton. Eat a bunch and you are fucked up.. only a nap will regain sanity.

nitrites! (sodium nitrite) hot dogs, cold cuts ect.. these if a guy my size tries to live on.. I soon am in bed. NO nutrition AT ALL in cold cuts or anything with nitrites.

pasta (cheap as shit and added to anything makes everything taste better and grow bigger - incl your WASTELINE. You can not eat this shit everyday and sit behind the keyboard and not gain weight. Plus it is just bad all round. But a lil pasta with some Smart Bal with some chedder meled over.. the best!

pork Cant forget this. Aaah so cheap with those $30 econo paks :) but ooooh so artery clogging and sat fat city. I have some frozen bbq :) in the freezer always. Luckily I only eat it maybe twice a week.

Smart Balance Something not right in China with this stuff. My "friend" says it is the sorbitol and you should only eat butter or olive oil or even better grapeoil (or maybe grapeseed oil) (it is light green in color) fact they gave me a cup of it when I was out there lately, insisted.)

sugar (refined white) (see above) no doubt bad for you and your teeth BUT late at night it does release the endorphins. It does.. so can you live without it? I cant really so far.

LOL (I can just see the "disciplined" health guys on the board fuming with me, "get some discipline". Remember the first line :) This is my weak area of life.
I am a hedonist's hedonist lol :)

No I dont work out OR exercise except housework and mowing.. stuff like that which is ALL that keeps me from gaining more weight! But at my age I need to learn some discipline OR just type on the KB like now and not eat :)

Cause I got to lose some LBs and diet is EVERYTHING so dont tell me to workout more. :) I am fairly active but have a terrible diet all in all.

So I am airing this out as it were. Getting "emotionally nude" on GFY as usual lol :)

salad dressings (with any oil) nausiating and once again right to the waste. Oils. oils, oils is a recurring theme I am seeing here afere typing all this. :)

white flour I only eat anything white if it is free. Good there :thumbsup

F-U-Jimmy 05-30-2012 07:49 PM

I eat a lot of that stuff, shit im going to die :1orglaugh

AllAboutCams 05-30-2012 07:51 PM

every thing but i have no idea what Smart Balance is

Vjo 05-30-2012 07:51 PM

ooops thought I posted this :)

Good things:

dried fruits, all kinds lol These may save me. :) Not a big fruit guy (surprise!) but dried seem ok. More like candy I guess. All types espec dates and yes... grandma was right.. prunes but also anything that is free of sugar.
Support Turkey and buy dried apricots :)

onions! I eat a ton of raw O's a day! God bless Georgia and their Vidalea O's that arrive every spring. HALLALUYA! Only thing that has kept me from keeling over. Seriously. My grandpa only told me about 4 things. One was onions especially (and all veggies) are great 4 u :thumbsup

garlic I need to eat more.

apple cider vinegar (Braggs is best!) I have it every morning (or evening, whenever I get up :) ) with the eggs or Taco :) Keeps me going. Great stuff! About 2-3 tsp in 12 oz water is nice. After a while you crave it. Good for you :thumbsup

oatmeal Just discovered it for real. This shit is God's manna. Gives you a slight lift as it is technically classified as a stimulant in the drug books :) It is. I love this shit. Need a tinch of smart bal OR an oil like olive and a tinch of honey. Great stuff.

olive oil I need to replace almost all oils with this. Still calories but as my friends tell me, "very good for the joints" Get ya all lubed up :thumbsup

albacore fucking tuna :) God's second manna. Fish and bread right? :) Biblical days. (Oatmeal and Tuna) Seriously if I could afford it this is all I would eat. I think I have got the answers after writing all this. As my professors said would happen :)

Post your secret super foods :thumbsup that make you feel GOOD! or what foods make you ill :(

Love to hear about it :)

I'm getting hungry :)

Thanks for voting :)

F-U-Jimmy 05-30-2012 08:13 PM

I eat all of that stuff to. But ill stay away from the Tuna until it stops glowing :1orglaugh

candyflip 05-30-2012 08:20 PM

My girl has issues overeating. I binge late at night on dairy...even though I'm lactose intolerant.

We're in the process of overhauling our diet because she's having Lapband surgery in 2 weeks.

baddog 05-30-2012 08:25 PM

Beer, but I don't think it should be on the list.

Yeah I hear the binge at night.. I eat very properly all day until before bed and then I cant really sleep without eating and everything tastes GREAT. Never been a big breakfast guy.

So yeah. I have binged a ton as you can tell by me sleepwalking for any sugar/corn syrup.

Also chocolate should maybe be included. Tough to eat a little and tough to eat it without gaining weight. No matter WHAT you tell yourself in the store.. as you pass by the candy section.. it's now or no candy for a week.. what do I do. I get some :(

Dried fruit next time lol I guess :)

Wow! Only beer? :thumbsup I see that sushi you are eating and I am so JEALOUS hehehe :thumbsup

My hat's off to you if only beer :thumbsup :)

I agreed IF I was a skinny dude I would have 4-5 a day well maybe 3-4. I have no alcy tendencies (unlike other things lol) so I can drink (as i do) for leisure and taste. It is liquid bread which is ok as long as you can use the calories.

Get my fat ass on a hog and hit the desert might do it :) Thanks bd :thumbsup

You said regularly, I did not say we never ate pork, or dairy, beef or chicken, we just eat none of them regularly. Fruits and veggies, mainly veggies are the most regular things in our diet besides beer. But we don't drink crap beer, only the good stuff. Oh, and we like our coffee.

We like a treat every once in a while too.

You got it down man :thumbsup Indeed the key word in the poll is REGULARLY. Id say weekly or every two weeks.

So no corn chips? ect? :) I AM impressed.. out of 10 voters only 2 do corn syrup (in virtually all candy) regularly. Altho not all candy like chocolate which is under sugar for sure. 5 do sugar.

A couple of these foods like mayo and salad dressings are only bad if abused but they are EASILY abused unless you have got your eating down.

I admire guys who can eat properly. Of course there are variables like activity but for us who are mostly in a chair.. we have to watch it extra close.

That is like a margarine but nonhydrogenated.. it is a blend of about 5 oils, good oils incl olive that tastes just like butter. Actually has more of a butter taste. Unlike margarines tho it is non hydrogenated.

Still it has sorbitol and is not natural but it is great stuff on about anything. I buy the large tub. It is like $5.99 at Walmart. So it is $2 for a typical 12oz tub which is cheap today.

Supposed to not clog your arteries like sat fat in butter is the theory.

what i am listening to after this monumental post lol :)

as usual not eating much YET today :)

lol I pretty much am to.. hey you only go round once. But when you cant walk a block without wanting to sit down.. might be time. We can carry weight young. But aint alot of 300 LBers running around over say 70. A couple but.. :)

I am about 6'3 308. Up a couple lately from my ave 305. Over 310 I am in trouble. Under 300 I start to feel like the old pizza guy who 15 years ago carried pies 4 floors up dorm stairs all night at about 250-255 Lbs. Still big then but big diff.

So I am tough but not immortal to time and cant carry 300 forever :)

Ill get it down. :) Beginning now :) Dried fruit! I am telling you :) And oatmeal :)

CYF 05-30-2012 09:38 PM

man, I eat almost all of that shit weekly :)

Probably bread, sugar, cheese, chicken, and pizza the most. And bacon.

Vjo 05-30-2012 09:39 PM

Ya know what killed me? 3.5 oz Swiss milk choc bars on sale for 4/$4.44 then $1 each! On sale everytime I go there for last 2 months!

And it is really good chocolate. So ya sit down and there are 10 squares. You are only gonna have 4 squares right? Before bed watching tv. Wrong! Whole thing gone. Ya cant stop. No way. 3.5 oz only $1 and 560 calories.

GaZONGA!

Welcome to FAT City brotha :)

Yeah I am sort of picking on the all American diet :)

When I was 25 I was 190

first mistake.. Blue Cheese dressings. I know. On salads and eating at places like The Ponderosa or Sizzler and having their Blue cheese. Second mistake. Nachos late. They can and WILL fatten you.

F'n chedder is the third manna but ya got to go easy I guess.

Anyhow At 35 I was up to 255 and delivering zowskis. The only reason I didnt lose weight was Domino's crew pies free every day :)

At around 47 I once ate a cake (no frosting) in 24 hours. Like a Betty Crocker mix only. Yellow cake. :)

I went from 270 to 280 in one week. I also ate some other stuff but it was the insulin spike that triggered the fat gain from all that glycogen in my blood stream. So it is not all calories.

Carbs can and will fatten you fastest without consuming 3500 extra calories/LB which is the common belief.

I would say chocolate put me to 300. I would buy a Whitman Sampler (1 LB) and eat it almost all in a night. Yeah it is old fat. Fat from when i was young and dumb in the 90s and on TRULY good shit. Not Annies :)

Altho shit will actually keep you a wee bit slimmer overall as will smoking cigs. But the binges are a bitch.

I binge is why I got fat. Eat nothing all day and binge before bed. Sleep good tho. Wake strong but slooowly gaining weight.

Eating young before bed made me strong the next day with good health. But older it is a bad idea as the pounds can creep up.

baddog 05-30-2012 10:23 PM

I am down to less than 180 , , , , 175-177 usually. I haven't been this light since my 20's.

Hey brotha :) I hear ya. I am getting hungry too. lol But only a lil. I seriously lose weight when I start threads. Sitting down. I get hungry but I dont need to eat for some reason.

Am I getting something here that replaces the food that I dont REALLY need :) Not really. I will crash and burn soon. :) Go watch tv :) Same old same old.....

Nachos, maybe a cherry "slice" or three. Have one choc bar left :) Clean my teeth with some salted in the shell peanuts. All with two beers of course, lol I will easily do 2000 cals. Then maybe a whole pack of popcorn with about 1/4 cup smart bal :)

I think I put my finger on it. Maybe some potatoes or a "main dish" in there. Maybe a bbq pork chop or two. Cant be all junk food :)

Maybe after that have just a half of sammie

http://www.sqvirtual.com/img/eastcoastsloppyjoe5.jpg

maybe a piece of pie

http://www.sqvirtual.com/img/pie3.jpg

a few chips

http://www.sqvirtual.com/img/Cheddar...tato-chips.gif

thats about it.. maybe a mallo cup

http://www.sqvirtual.com/img/mallo.jpg

a few jubes and a few more peanuts

greatest intro in rock

that's about it.. goodnight.. after I brush my teeth :)

Never have these problems with chicken. Maybe you need to check your source.
I eat tons of chicken without any seasoning. Sure there is no taste, but not a bad taste either. Just kind of plain.

Nothing wrong with the cholesterol in eggs. You need to update, this isn't the 70s anymore. I sometimes eat +10 whole hard boiled eggs a day.

Screwed Up 05-30-2012 10:41 PM

Super foods: maca, quinoa, cocoa beans, parsley.

Tons of herbs and spice. You throw them in high quantities in the blender. Tastes like shit but feels good afterwards.

Pretty much all nuts but personally I like macademia, pecans, peanuts.

Fish is the answer :thumbsup Ehh it is all a gradual slide. Ya just have to be sliding in the right direction lol

Congratz! I joke but it is serious biz. I hope to see 250 again. I can do it hopefully :)

It is really about how much you eat but having the wrong foods around can also hurt progress.

It is weird. I am all will power till late then some weird chemicals hit and it is all about food. If I dont have garbage around I am ok. If I buy junk food to "ration" it over a week ... never happens. Always eat too much at once.

I once lost about 20 LBs counting calories. It works but...

Anyhow good to see what everyone is eating and not eating....

Taking a look at the poll...

blonda80 05-30-2012 10:53 PM

Good info :thumbsup Good to know. Yeah a few chickens may have been a bit bad. I notice mostly poultry is ok. Just seems not as good as beef. It can be a bit gamey. Just a bit.

Good to hear about eggs. I start the day ok then with 3 scrambled and some Braggs apple cider vinegar/water :)

In the 70's I used to drink a few eggs raw. Remember Nora Hayden's Book on Energy in the 70s where it was basicly Brewers yeast and granulated lecithen mixed well with milk and I think maybe a couple raw eggs. I actually worked out a bit then. When I was young and didnt really need to. Isnt that how it goes. :)

Not bad :thumbsup Yeah dont mean to give chicken a bad name. Scratch the gamey talk as that doesnt really apply. Lot of health folks go with chicken breast which I also do. It has less iron which is maybe why I sort of prefer beef and beef seems more complete and more energizing just a bit.

Tough to not eat cheese I guess. It is just how much you have. Also buying the good stuff and eating less is prob a better way to go.

But no bad stuff? No corn chips, candy, hot dogs, white bread, ect ect? Very good.

You have a GREAT diet. Most of those 20 are not good foods. Some are ok in moderation but most have their detractors.

loreen 05-30-2012 11:16 PM

Your lists are a bit off or probably much too personal to count for everybody else.

Dried fruits are very high on sugar, can give real problems to diabetics / insulin resistance ppl.

Vjo 05-30-2012 11:23 PM

Some interesting findings. Out of 20 voters:

(5) do corn syrup. hehe Welcome to the club. I get off on that stuff BUT if i eat too much.. nausiating. Ok in moderation. Strict moderation.

(5) of you have no probs with MSG and (7) nitrites are no prob.

HALF (10) eat no sugar at all. THAT is very good. Congratz to you. Sugar/corn syrup is the worst. That is what my friend says. :)

(13) pasta. That is higher than I thought. Hmm Ya know pasta is basicly white bread. Still it is good and if you are active.. ya burn it off.

Almost everyone (16) eats cheese regularily. Again this one is really about amount. More than 2 oz a day and you are getting up there. I do about 32 oz of cheese a week seriously. 4-5 oz a day on ave. Maybe more.

(3) Smart Balance to (8) butter. THIS I am glad to know. Not a lot of Smart Balance folks here.

About 1/2 (11) dairy and (11) eggs. Amazingly almost 50% do NOT do dairy. Hmm VERY interesting. That would include cheese (16) so some (like me) do cheese but no milk or Sour Cream or Butter.

(14) do bread so 6 do none which is interesting. Half (9) eat pork. Is Porno Jew back :) And as Emeral says "Pork Fat rules" :)

Less than half (9) eat mayo. Good to see. I am really down on mayo lately. Love it but doesnt agree with me. Soybean oil basicly.

Intersting only (5) of you do the oil based common dressings. Yogurt based? or Vinegar Oil maybe. But yeah common salad dressings can put weight on very easily.

(8) like a lil frozen zowski once in a while as do I. What is life without a lil pizza. But have to get a good one. Cheapies are garbage.

(10) got no prob with white flour. Ehh Ill eat it if free (store giveaway) but otherwise I lean whole grain of some kind. Once again doesnt matter if you are active or not eating too much. Altho too much white flour and ya get glue :)

And lastly only (7) of you are beer drinkers! Booooooo :)

I am going to crack a Bud soon with a lil top sirloin with some chedder melted over. Quick and easy and nutricious (sort of :) )

Anyhow some interesting results. What people eat daily has always facinated me.

Yeah it is a personal thing. These are what I eat that I feel are possibly bad. Well at least 16 of 20 I eat regularily.

Dried fruits.. Hmm ok. But then prob be better than corn syrup or candy but I guess a calorie is a calorie. No easy solutions sometimes to replace one thing (candy) with another (dried fruit).

Actually dates, apricots and some dried fruits are sugar free which is all I would buy. Otherwise might as well eat sugar. :)

But those Turkish apricots get a bit boring after a while :(

You sound like you know what you are doing :thumbsup. I have heard of cocoa beans as well as quinoa. Maca will have to look up :) MacaRONI? :) That can be great with cheese :) Parsley is interesting.

As far as herbs. Agree. Nothing like some mj into a blender and then into some brownies. No wait! :) Anyhow I hear ya. Have to look into what herbs to use.

And yeah nuts are GREAT. This is what vegetarians do to replace beef/chicken.

Never felt bad after eating nuts. Bit high cal BUT not too bad.

Anyhow thanks all for voting. Interesting poll in how we all eat :thumbsup :)

seeandsee 05-31-2012 06:10 AM

I voted for food i eat and i think is bad for me: beer, sugar, bread,

Choopa Phil 05-31-2012 06:23 AM

How is chicken, beef, or eggs bad for you? Strong broscience

lucas131 05-31-2012 06:38 AM

all except three, i must be super healthy :) but as choopa phil said, some of them are more usefull than bad food :2 cents:

RebelR 05-31-2012 06:54 AM

Everything in moderation. I think that butter is better for you than Margarine. Meat isn't bad, if you avoid a lot of fatty cuts of Beef, omit the chicken skin, and buy good meat and avoid anything in the store that says "Seasoned". You should really try and buy from a farmer, or a good butcher, or a farmers market if you can. I was talking with my butcher a few months back, he said that there's more salt in the seasoned supermarket pork, than he has in his cured ham, that's a mind fuck. And beer, I think they have said is now good for you (aside from the additional calories) I don't drink pop, so a few wobbly pops on a Friday or the odd day of the week aren't gonna kill me.

Hey Phil. I thought of you while writing this :) You da man with nutrition :bowdown

Those are only (possibly) borderline bad.

Eggs - Cholesterol if you eat too many 3/day everyday (so they say)

Beef - Saturated fat (tho lean beef is certainly fine) Beef is a staple for me that would be hard to replace.

Chicken - Agreed and as long as it is fresh, virtually nothing wrong with it. Frozen breasts are always ok. Fresh are usually ok but sometimes have a tinch of a weird aftertaste. But Chicken is def ok if good and fresh. Skin they say is a bit bad with sat fat.

Great points :thumbsup Moderation really is the key. Indeed. You cant overdo stuff like: Mayo, sugar, corn syrup, pork ect but a lil will do no harm.

Yep you just have to avoid the fat in meats (beef) which is easily done. Pork it is hard to avoid all fat. Skinless chicken has virtually no fat. Fresh meat is certainly good for you.

Beer I believe is also great for you but it is liquid carbs and drinking 2-3/day may slow down weight loss so they say. Of course bottom line it is overall calories that count.

But eliminating certain foods helps the calorie battle. I call it the "Dont Buy It Diet". Everything starts with our decisions in the supermarket. Make a list and STICK to it I guess :)

Pop would have been a good replacement for chicken and beef in this poll. Both sugared pop and diet (aspartame) pop. These polls I make are never perfect :) I do drink nothing but water or beer so pretty good there.

Was flipping channels for a few minutes this morning while having a coffee and saw a trainer on a show say to chug a big glass of water before every meal to feel full faster. Seemed like a good common sense approach where you don't have to feel like you're giving everything up right away.

I eat I guess a few of the things on the list without worrying too much about it. But I also never eat fast food, I dont drink sodas, rarely eat highly processed stuff. I could still lose some pounds but I KNOW it could be much much worse.

Real good tip :thumbsup makes sense. I've heard of drinking more water throughout the day but right before meals seems like a winner. Some say normally that water dilutes the digestive juices and you should only drink after the meal. But for those counting cals seems like a winner. Might give that a go :)

I hear ya. I will never have a perfect diet. Lucas for example only does 3.That is pretty amazing. That may be due in part to the country he is in where things like cabbage, potatoes ect are more staples and a diff way of growing up. They prob dont have 34 brands of corn chips for example. But prob also a concious effort to eat the right foods.

It is a balancing act for most of us. Moderation is the key. Noone wants to give up cheese, all sugar, mayo ect. When you have the urge for the rest of the 3.5 oz milk choc bar you have to conk yourself on the head or something. lol

What about egg whites?! I eat/drink about 30 egg whites a day, 4 whole, 8-10oz beef and at least 3-4 chicken breasts per day. Im donzo!

Tom_PM 05-31-2012 10:12 AM

You can make sweet potato chips or carrot chips if you wanted to. You sure wont find them in the snack aisle at a super market though. You tend to appreciate them more if you make them yourself, even if you make potato chips. You burn calories making them too, and if you're really good.. you also grew the potatoes and busted your ass cultivating and harvesting them. By the time you eat them you've spent way more calories than they'll add on to you.
It's not impossible to eat whatever you want to.

Tom_PM 05-31-2012 10:13 AM

I just had a couple of eggs worth of Egg Beaters in my breakfast. It's egg whites with some vitamins and minerals added, so not too bad I guess.

It sort of boils down to counting calories if you need to lose. No diff than 30 years ago. Or ever. No magic diets or foods. Ya have to count calories to get a grip on where you stand.

You all know Richard Christy (Howard Stern Show) and the Iphone app "Lose It" that basicly is just Weight Watchers on computer. He literally transformed himself.

I think he looks too skinny but he used Lose It to basicly log all he is eating and let the computer instruct him. Kind of a good psychology that may make it easier to stick with than the conventional Weight Watchers or counting calories.

Their site is free (if you dont have an IPhone)

Interesting poll, makes you wonder if there's anything tasteful to eat that's not bad for your health.

Anyone can lose weight, but not everyone can lose FAT while retaining muscle. Its more than just cals in vs cals out.

No. U da MAN :) Holy shit! 30! :)

Fact is PROTEIN is where it's at and simple CARBS got to go!

protien and veg is where it's at. This I know but getting rid of them damn simple carbs is easier said than done.

Dont buy it diet. And more oatmeal :thumbsup

My 5 main carbs I SHOULD be eating mainly:

1) oatmeal (I go 2/3s milk to 1/3 water. microwave 4 servings at a time and refrig)
2) beans (mixture, canned or fresh or soaked, any beans)
3) brown rice (Mahatama is a good brand. Until recently I didnt like the taste but GOOD brown rice is very good without that "taste" that some brown rices have and you can use a lil olive oil :thumbsup)
4) potatoes (they are a carb I guess) some say potatoes pout weight on some say they are the best for losing weight as only 150 cals or so if you eat very little oil on them.
5) bread (not a lot and 100% whole wheat only (no refined wheat)

Emil 05-31-2012 10:45 AM

We got very different opinions on good/bad foods. Eggs got pretty much everything you need to survive except vitamin C.

Vjo 05-31-2012 10:49 AM

6) wild rice (honorable mention. Not really a rice but a grain. Cooks same as brown rice about 45 mins. GREAT stuff and from right here in beautiful (in MAY :) Minnesota :)

Lil tourism for the boys in Saint Paul :)
