2257..... let me get this straight....
After the rulings on 2257 a few years ago (that made us all secondary producers) let me ask some questions...
Being in the USA I've been operating under the assumption that I can never have a TGP, review site, or tube site (that has preview pics or screen grabs) because I can't ever post another picture of someone's content on any of my sites because my 2257 officer doesn't have their 2257 info on that posted content (including non-2257 softcore thumbs that comes from a 2257 needed scene). Right? That's how my lawyer read it to me at the time.... is that the jist of it or am I wrong? |
You signed up in 2001 and your asking this question NOW?
You can debate this one until your blue in the face. According to the letter of the law, by putting a picture or video on line you are in fact a "producer" and thus required to have 2257 information on all or any models used. However, they've never gone after an affiliate, and just follow the trail back to the program and hit them up - which is rare. |
...if only they would go after tube sites.

And the word you were looking for in that sentence is "you're." |

How did a question about how other USA based webmasters were handling things for the last few years get so misconstrued so quickly? Oh yeah....forgot where i was, I've missed ya GFY!

If they have bigger guns than you do... You're kinda fucked. You can apply that to any scenario.
