The one I want is about $15k and will carry a larger sized camera.
Though this one looks like it could at least carry a dslr. |

My MCPx is more fun since it can fly upside down.. :upsidedow

I bought one of the cheap parrot drones from thesource. Obviously not as nice as the ones above but for 329.99 it's not bad. Some people strap a Gopro to it to get 1080p video, but the onboard 720p cam isn't that bad.

and if you think this is crazy, wait till you hear the rest of the story ;) |

Those are for professional use. The news channels use them to cover big events in the city etc, so they don't have to rent a chopper to get some nice shots from arial view.
You can get much cheaper once if you just want to use it for some fun Like this: http://www.thesource.ca/estore/produ...roduct=8002530 as mentioned above |

That is way overkill for lifting a gopro camera. Mine is much much smaller and carries the camera that I use for FPV flying, and a gopro hero2 for HD video.
|
|
how about some shots from the copter?
|
I have a one-of-a-kind "cock-o-copter" but I don't like to discuss it in public. :D
|
Anyone that wants something similar to play with for just a few hundred bucks should check out the Parrot AR.Drone 2.0 http://ardrone2.parrot.com/
It's VERY easy to fly, its cheap (around $300), shoots 720p HD video and you control it with with your iPad, iPhone or Android phone/talet. It has FPV (First Person View) trough your iOS or Android Device. More videos here: http://ardrone2.parrot.com/videos/ |
I don't need another toy to sit around and gather dust.but it looks awesome like some huge spider flying around

Looks a tad dangerous! Once had a cox airplane engine (propeller) take a chunk out of my finger, real quick like.
Must be whizzing pretty good to get that much lift even with 6 engines. |

I don't :pimp

You can do it on the cheap with a cheap heli and an 808 keychain camera.

It somehow lost control of the remote and dissapeared into the wild blue yonder. It is supposed to have a gps homing device, but it didnt work. The guys who operated it went out looking for it, but I guess it's like looking for a needle in a haystack. If I hear any more about it, I would be sure to post it.:winkwink: |

Someone failed to install a lost aircraft beacon on an expensive aircraft.

Someone failed at a lot of things.

On my planes, it is set to lower landing gear and flaps, reduce throttle and neutralize control surfaces with the hope that the plane will fly straight and descend with minimal damage, but they rarely do that. |
