Wouldn't that be the 4th season?

Yes, if you are counting the 6 season prequel that came second season while they were waiting for the better actor to die of cancer.

I'm actually impressed that they are more concerned with the story than syndication like most shows. they must have realized how forced last season was even though I don't believe they lost any viewership.

They do still have Boss and Magic City now.

Maybe the writing can get back to the way it was first season instead of one long stretched out banter to get you to the cliff hanger and the next episode

They can't drag it out forever...they're kind of following history(in the loosest way possible). The new episodes will have Marcus Crassus, and it was his army that finally killed Spartacus. I'm sure they've planned a spectacular death for him.

Agreed. The only saving grace was that Meg saw Dexter killing that dude at the end. Should open up with a bang at least.

Yes Dexter fucking sucked ass last season, completely jumped the shark which is a surprise because up until and through the lithgow season it was fucking awesome even though it is so far from the novel series it isn't funny.

P.S. I think the last Spartacus season could be good if they revert back to the original writing style and plus they now have a place to go instead of a bunch of escaped slaves hanging out in a cave trying to stretch out the story until I want to stick a fork in my own temples.

That's what I think screwed up the whole season. They fucking only had that to offer all season long and they stretched it out so long just to get to that.

In fact in the novel series she learns about him at the end of the first book and is in charge like that Maria (think her name is) chick is in the cable series.

Plus in the novel series, Rita's kids are damaged goods and know about him too and want them to train them to do what he does.

I am waiting to watch the whole series when they'll stop making it.
