I will always remember his VIP parties. The one at the top of the Stratosphere with the helicopter rides afterwards tested my fear of heights and flying. Still would not of missed them.

Sleazy isn't retiring. He's switching careers
This happens a lot when people ride their 5 minutes for too long and then realize train has left long time ago and there's no way to catch up.

As much as I enjoy the animosity of your posts, your fucking wise ass attitude I have to say... lighten the fuck up.

Sleazy made more money than you most likely you ever will. He was a board personality here. Look at the pictures. Is there anybody running behind him ready to kick his ass? Nope. Everybody is smiling and having a good time... enjoying life.

Apparently, he made his run and is moving on to something he feels is more profitable and better for his situation. Commend him, salute him, and be a man and respect him for what it is he has done.

Don't be a dick forever. It's not worth it.

jscott 06-05-2012 11:58 AM

Well, 99% of us can agree that he's not the most friendly or "nice guy" around. (if you make $1mil/year and up, he's nice I'm sure). With that said, bye bye and I hope you lose ego and gain friendliness in your future Sleazydream :)

Rochard 06-05-2012 12:05 PM

I never understood why people didn't like him. He made money off of a TGP - and then threw huge parties for our industry.

Sleazy is a great guy. Had the pleasure of meeting him in person lots of times and he's always had good things to say about everyone else in the biz. Congratulations on your new path Sleazy & don't forget your friends! Hopefully you can make it to this year's Qwebec Expo too. All the best!

Not being a dick or anything, just stating the obvious.

I remember at the beginning I honestly hated the guy. We were different on every opinion and I wanted to avoid him rather than getting bogged down in useless drama. It wasn't until I met him in Montreal at a trade show and saw a magazine (think it was XBiz) who did an article on him. We then ended up on the same seminar panel and I heard and saw him.

At a party I came up to him and honestly admitted how big of a mistake I had made misjudging him and we spoke at length after that. He was gracious and we discussed business and life in general. There are few people in this industry I can respect and look up too. He is one of them.

For years now we have had a close friendship and I have come to respect his style and even if we do differ at times - we discuss and disagree as friends and move on.

Thankfully we still keep in contact and even my kids call him Uncle Scott. I know many dislike him - some envy while others simply misjudge him. Whatever your feelings about him I only wished that you took the time as I did to get to know the real man behind his board personality.

My friend - will miss you on the boards but definitely will keep in touch regularly.

Because he was a dick at the parties?

Not ragging on him... Just being honest.

Since I am being honest... He threw the party so he could be king of the party. Not to genuinely give people a good time.

Other than that... He has humbled up a lot in the past few years and I think he has realized you don't have to be a cock to be cool.

For one - he defended some shady companies, business tactics etc etc.

Tofu 06-05-2012 02:31 PM

Always a stand up guy to me. At shows, he was hilarious. Some people just take shit too seriously. Never had one bad thing to say about the cat and I learned a lot about TGP traffic from this dude! :2 cents:

Thank you, Scott. I ran a successful BBW TGP for 5 years by looking up to guys like you, bro. I wish you the best in your future ventures.

This pretty much describes Sleazys image for those that didn't bother drink beer with him.

Say what ever you want, but Sleazy was a figure in the industry for a long time and I give props just for that.

Change and turn over are part of any business. I hope you got a good price for your properties and you move on to good things.

Eat your words keyboard warrior, absolutely not the case. Even the whole concept that everyone loves to refer to as "bro" on this board is a farce. The truth of the matter is that there is good and bad in every business and people from everywhere around the world who are shy, insecure, non-violent, socially inept. Of course there are people happy to patronize crooks and doucebags, those are the same ones that return home from their trips and do the same thing at their local bar. I would happily give as an example more than a thousand webmasters and hanger-oners who aren't even polite enough to say thank you for the hospitality or just simply dissapear before a bill shows up.

Consider it for what its worth. I'm the same guy that refused Chris Brown sending me a drink after I bought a round for everyone at the Sofitel because I was upset that he hit Rhianna.. not nice to hit girls.

How about I fly you out to the next show and you can report back to GFY on just exactly what people are coming these days and how everyone is acting. In my 13 years I've seen plenty of knock down drag out disagreements over peoples business ethics. The audience today is almost entirely free from the fluff that used to attend that wasn't showing up to work.

Brad
