Kicked Off The Best Porn

I had www.kinkykicks.net listed on www.thepestporn.com for a while but let the user / pass expire as I didn't see any benefit from letting them have constant access to my members area. They didn't even update screens and pricing info.
Anyway, after them sending me emails every week requesting updated login info I finally thought what the hell and set them up a new pass.
Only to receive this reply back:
"...I'm writing you today to let you know that we can no longer list sites which use the word "torture" anywhere on a site's tour outside the member area, due to search engine restrictions.
If at some point you choose to eliminate the word (perhaps replace it with something like "torment" or similar), then we can list your sites again. .."

I just found it ironic as it's them that listed me in the first place and have badgered me for login info! :upsidedow

Why would they take the risk of getting banned because of ONE site's keyword? I would have done the same thing...

Billing companies will probably follow. We had to re-word much of our verbiage recently, force and rape have become no-no's.

I will keep an eye on things, but I'm not rushing to change too much just yet. I produce and sell ballbusting, cbt / cock & ball torture and sexual femdom. None of it heavy bdsm like I see on some sites. Not too long ago people in the UK were panicking over the new violent pornography laws. It seems like censorship is going to soon overpower the internet!

If it becomes necessary to stay legal I will of course change whatever is required.

Sweet... Gotta remember that for my own sites.

Doug of Montreal 06-05-2012 02:31 PM

That happens a lot as a review site. You need to update a thousand sites. You don't get to go into each one and do the work before you get access. You expect things will turn out fine, then suddenly you see (enter any of the crazy things a site wouldn't/couldn't list--which changes as the Internet landscape does) and you have to do something you don't want to do: remove a site and loose the hours of work you put into listing it in the first place.

It was a polite response. It's an unfortunate reason but not without merit. It's just the business of this business.

It's probably got to do with their adwords campaigns.

Yep. Sometime last year we added a customizable list of banned search terms for billing compliance to the Elevated X CMS feature list. This came at the request of a customer who was threatened with shut down by his billing company.

Nothing new here, just companies looking to limit their own liability and remain safe through changing times. :2 cents:

Things change in this biz. What was "ok" back in the day may not be "ok' today :2 cents:

If it's not a big deal exchange the words and make some sales :thumbsup

AJ, I didn't know that EX has that feature. That's good to know.

Unfortunately, it's not quite that simple for me to remove words from descriptions. I have three movie titles with the words torture in them. 'Tied, Teased & Tortured' , 'Torture Treatment' and 'Teasing Torture'
Changing these titles would mean a little editing, encoding, etc..
Not impossible of course but a bit of a pain in the arse!

Yeah, those TheBestPorn guys are among the least reliable and most unreasonable in the porn industry.

http://thesaurus.com/browse/torture?s=t Torment might be the new code word.
