How much do you think birth order plays a part in determining who/what you become?
 

Whether you're the oldest child, a middle child or the baby of your family how big a part do you think it played in who you are today?

The first born is always smarter, more handsome and possesses a larger penis.

i think there are studies that do say that first borns are usually the smartest.

Most of what I posted is in the off chance my little brother reads this thread.

I think being a first-born contributed a ton to my identity, both good and bad. I'm an anxious, entitled, perfectionist asshole with a fear of failure and huge need to be the one bringing home the bacon.

I dunno, i'm in the middle and I earn 10x what anyone else in my family makes a year.

However at one point the oldest earned a lot, but he made too much $$$ by the time he was 30 and it ruined him.

As the eldest of 12, I find it difficult to find an argument that would prove contrary to your observation.

With all the historical and mythological references to the first born son, easy to see.

I am youngest child of 3, and must confirm oldest was smartest based on school results :)

I'm the eldest and I can definitely see how it made me headstrong and protective.

Being first born made a big impact on me - I was always responsible for (and answerable to) the behavior of the rest of the children that came after me. I was expected to be the ring leader.

What about being the only child?

I'm the 5th born son in my family.

Isn't it true that with first born children, everything they do is cute, makes parents laugh, is adorable etc?

By the time I rolled around, it was all speak when you're spoken to's and because I said so's. I mean, my parents must have been like.. yeah yeah been there, done that.
