Oh man,I would be so choked.that's fucked up

Rochard 06-06-2012 11:02 AM

Why is this such a surprise. Renters do it all the time.

A friend of a friend of mine is going through a divorce and frankly doesn't have the money to rent. She's been living in their house; They haven't paid the mortgage in years and the house was recently sold at auction. The new owner came over to look at their new house was told no and told to leave. As fucked up as it seems, she lives there, she's a tenant, and she has rights.

(The really sad part is she has kids.)

This is so easy to fix.

One. Have someone sneak in and plant drugs in the house, packaged as if they are for sale.

Two. Tip off police, who then raid the house

Three. Move back in to your now empty house.

That's when you wait for the father to leave, follow him somewhere and pull a Tonya Harding on his knees. I'd rather see the place burn than see some bum in there stinking the place up for free.

brassmonkey 06-06-2012 11:10 AM

:1orglaugh :1orglaugh dumb bitch! when the sun go's down they leave and don't give them a fucking key! :helpme :1orglaugh oh man :( some states it takes a year plus to evict.

The part i'm struggling with is moving a family into a property that's listed for sale or intended to be sold. You don't need to be a real estate genius to understand the problem of not only getting the residents out and complex tenants rights issues, but you have a high probability of dealing with damages should they decide on a whim to trash the appliances, walls, carpets, hardwood floors etc. when being evicted or facing evictions.

Gideon is "fair use"ing her house.

not a bad idea, but I doubt they would raid the house just based on some anonymous tip? that only happens in the movies?

We get them out here

Here there's a law if they're three days behind, you can post notice on the door. Then file in court on the 3rd day. About 2 weeks later you get a hearing. Couple of days later, the sheriff does the eviction. Friend used it on two tax sale properties. One moved out before the 3 days.

its not cheap to evict someone and you better know the law. if you mess up they can come back and sue you. best thing is get a attorney to do it.

These days, the cops will use almost any excuse to have fun knocking in doors....

Since I'm facing eviction, should I just say "no" when the cops come to take me out?

I'm pretty sure I'd wind up living in jail for a bit.

Sunny Day 06-06-2012 11:34 AM

Which is worse

Which is worse, house sitters that won't leave or people who see a vacant house and strip it of all copper and the $2500 A/C unit?

Sunny Day 06-06-2012 11:38 AM

Depends

If you're paying rent, you're going.

If you have a mortgage, there's a million things going on. You could possibly stay and get a reduction in your house payments.

lolllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll

Mr Pheer 06-06-2012 02:27 PM

My mother had a good trick to play on tenants that wouldnt leave. She'd take the front door off of the house.

kristin 06-06-2012 02:31 PM

That is just nuts.

brassmonkey 06-06-2012 02:36 PM

oh and the house wasn't stolen she entered into a month to month tenancy when she gave them the keys. when she found out they would not get out. she should have made up a lease so she can get some of her money back.
