Making Vidcaps?
Anyone know what makes good vidcaps? Like those four section Dogfart caps or better large single image caps??
|
what is your source media that you will be making the caps from?
|
Standard Mpegs. I picked up a bunch from Sobegirl.

I am interested in this too. I have the raw .avi files, and also converted them to .mpeg.
I remember a program years ago that would capture mpeg vidcaps, but I want to batch capture each frame as a still from the raw .avi Anyone? :) |
TMPGEnc

in that case anything you use will suck for any decent sized cap.
too compressed you really need the tape or the raw avi, or at minimal a high quality high b/w version mpeg. With the mpegs you mention, will probably be best to just print screen them in the WMP. But dont expect any better quality than what you see at standard playing dimensions of 320 x 240 pixels or whatever. |

It turned out to be more work editing out the thousands of pics you didnt want. I do it one of two ways now. either right from the tape inside a Sony camera with memory stick, or right from the raw avi with Pinnacle software. The latter is the easiest IMO. But both have excellent results. You can move quickly to each part you want and cap off a 740 x 480 pic easily and in less time than it takes to auto cap a whole shitload and filter out the unwanted. Bikini voy is right. YOu will need the source material to get real good screen caps.
