I have one from Square and Paypal too. They're really easy to use.

I've been trying to get the people that I buy from at the Public Market to start using them, I had carrying cash down there.

There are a few using them already and I make it a point to buy from them first, if they have what I want.

They guy is full service. He can bring you weed and mow your yard for you while you relax and bake.

I venture to guess he has more than one client he does that with.

The rates for Paypal are a bit better. I used the Square reader last year for my big garage sale and people got a kick out of it.

I've known this guy for 30 years of my life. I don't think too many people would cross him.

Nice way to leave a huge paper trail for the authorities to go way back and prove all kinds of shit if he ever gets busted, but then again if he was smart he wouldn't be selling weed for a living.

Front businesses have been around forever. His is largely cash based. Having some credit card sales isn't really a bad thing. I'm sure if he was worried he wouldn't be doing it.

its a good idea but for selling weed or blowjobs i think its a bad idea its just too easy to charge back. the only problem is it uses paypal especially with girls i could just imagine the girl see you taking his card for the money and after he charges back she would go mental this causes too much trouble.

I got my reader today and it reads the card about one out of every twelve swipes. I wonder if that's typical or if I got a bad one.

i'd figure that any weed purveyor with more than 5 brain cells firing would only sell a small amount to a new customer. that way, if the customer charges back, the merchant is only out a relatively few bucks.

if it was a normal credit card processors it would be great but to use it with paypal is where i have a problem

Square, and presumably other similar services, requires GPS to be enabled. Not a biggie for most, but something to be aware of.

As for fees, Square and the like are fantastic for small-time sellers / on the road sales with no commitments and simple fee structure.

No. Inside or out - doesn't matter. I should have written "Location Tracking", which is more technically accurate. Location tracking can be performed automatically (triangulation, signal strength, etc) by the cell service provider regardless of whether one's phone can get a GPS signal or not.

I'm sure it's in the TOS for square, just as it is for Paypal that you cannot use it for sexual related services, nor guns, narcotics och (I think) prescribed medicines.

I paid for a t-shirt on a market to a guy using an ipad with an izettle card reader. Worked like a charm, and it used the card chip and not the magnetic swipe.
