Saw that and thought it was quite an odd pairing as well. They are going to be nearby in a few weeks, trying to decide whether or not to go.

As a kool and the gang fan I find this offensive.

I used to be a huge fan, their first few albums with Roth were awesome. When Roth left, the creativity left as well, all albums after that are crap.

I saw the show here in Vegas.

Believe it or not (I know I didn't until I saw it with my own two eyes), Kool And The Gang did a great job opening for Van Halen!

They played and sang their asses off and had the entire MGM Grand Garden Arena on their feet and dancing.

I was there for Van Halen...but I have to admit that as a band, Kool & The Gang were super tight and all those old feel good party songs fit in perfectly. Had all the women in the crowd singing along.
