Roger Clemens verdict: Not guilty on all six counts

Good for you Roger!

This shit started 4 years ago! And was probably investigated in more depth by congress than our banking bailout fiasco. This is what passes for importence by our elected officials now ... weather or not a retired baseball player made false statements about taking performance enhancing drugs.

"After eight weeks, 46 witnesses, two dozing jurors and an estimated $2-3 million spent in taxpayer money, the Roger Clemens trial is finally over.
The verdict: Not guilty on three counts of making false statements, not guilty on two counts of perjury and not guilty on one count of obstruction. The charges stemmed from testimony that Clemens made in Feb. 2008, telling a Congressional committee that he had never taken steroids or HGH.

It's a distraction as is the Lance Armstrong fiasco :2 cents:

WTF was Congress doing "investigating" this bullshit anyway?

There are two losers here:
1. Roger Clemens for having to spend LOTS of money on attorneys over the last few years.

2. The American taxpayer. The country has a HUGE deficit and THIS is what Congress does to spend money on?

We should vote ALL of them out of office.

yup, and I'll say it...baseball was a hell of a lot more fun during the "steroid era". It put asses in seats....everyone wanted to go to the ballpark to watch McGwire and Sosa battle for the Maris record. Then when Bonds became superhuman, even his haters paid money to watch him hit the ball a mile or get walked 2-3 times per game.

Congress accused him of lying. Period. That's all this was about. Did he fib to congress about something congress has no business investigating anyway.

I agree 100%

I can understand MLB not wanting players to take steroids, but they should handle it themselves and this shouldn't even be on congresses radar.

XPays 06-18-2012 03:01 PM

he seemed guilty to me. he should have confessed like andy pettite and the other roid era players

Rochard 06-18-2012 03:27 PM

Why the fuck is the US Government spending millions on trying to charge someone with fucking perjury? If we are going to invest millions into a case, it had better be for something big. Like murder.

blackmonsters 06-18-2012 03:31 PM

He's an athlete.

All the jealous pencil necked pussies from high school had to take a shot at him.

Same reason OJ is hated and nobody remembers Robert Blake.

And this was his SECOND trial ... Last spring, Clemens?s initial trial ended in a mistrial on only the second day of testimony when prosecutors bungled by showing the jury inadmissible evidence.

We should all be really pissed that our tax dollars are wasted on this fucking bullshit.

Let them all dope up. Why is the government all up in this business?
