It can be replicated but they could not figure out how to meter usage, which is why it never took off.

Tesla was a pure scientist. He would discover something and experiment without having a marketable product planned.

He wrote about bouncing radio waves off an object to discover where it was years before Radar was invented and he was the father of AC power, successfully defeating his former employer Edison's plans for DC power. Tesla built the first hydroelectric power station at Niagra Falls.

Rockefeller did sponsor Tesla's research and abandoned him once Marconi was able (using and infringing on 17 of Tesla's patents) to "invent" radio.

Tesla was eventually credited with the patent on Radio in the 1950s by the Supreme Court.

A fascinating person to read about and forgotten by many.
