What if it was written by an African-American ad agency? Would that change any of the dynamics?

well it would assume that they must not like to tip, get dressed up and hate ending words with "ing".

I feel like that copy would make more sense with white families?

It does read as condescending for a black family tho.

I read his works at Berkeley for my course on racism and American cinema.

Pretty sure McDonalds saying is "I'm LOVIN'" it not IM LOVING IT. I personally dont see anything race driven here.

I actually think the ad has a "cool edge".
However, this type of stereotyping misses the mark because it only focuses on
a segment of the black community.
Many intelligent blacks will see it as pandering, condescending and insulting.

I am not sure McDonald's customer base is intelligent ANYONE. Sure there's no sense in alienating intelligent people, but being the national symbol of unhealthy, poor people food already takes care of that.

I think black people who is offended by such ad is just looking for ways to victimize them so they can show society how bad everyone is judging them by their skin.

People mistakenly believe that racial issues can be from a majority to a majority where racism is about hating people who are different than yourself.

So it's not really so important about who is racist, but who is acting out.

And if they WERE already closed and you banged on the window, McDonald's (and Mr. Sub - and lots of other places) used to give the shit away for free instead of throwing it in a dumpster. Didn't matter what colour your skin was, either...

Yeah and then IN THE DAY they started mixing fat in with the actual meat and selling burgers 2 for a dollar cause the fat made the burger swell up in the oven.

Today, they are all following the lead of subway. That's why the salad's and what not.
