What is the longest amount of time you've kept a windows 7 desktop or laptop on? I know, it's no linux but I would think it would be safe to leave it running for quite a bit without rebooting, right?
A couple months. Usually by then it starts to get sluggish and stuff starts hanging.
Usually the only time I restart my laptop is when there's an update it needs to be rebooted for.
Only when the updates require it or when swapping hardware. Longest I did was 3 months recently. Surprisingly, that's very good for me.

going on 2mths here
about 3 days
I only reboot when an update makes me.

The only Win7 box I have is my HTPC. Couldn't even tell you the last time it was rebooted.
there is usually some update that requires a reboot about once a month for windows 7
windows 8 will have updates without reboot, sweet
Every single day when I'm using photoshop, movie makers, Flash etc...
The more work I do the more I have to restart. I consider home computing to be a failed experiment that I'm stuck with trying to make a living. :1orglaugh |
probably a month or so...
booting takes too long... I must upgrade to SSD and reinstall the windows for a speedup.... |
I haven't rebooted my desktop Window 7 Professional in over two weeks.
mine (and all the others at the office) is on 24/7, running Win 7 Ent x64
Updates are run every 2nd Tuesday of the month and normally cause a reboot |
40-50 days
more if I didn't have to reboot for updates or battery backup flubbing on me |
few months

Every few days, but I'm always installing and uninstalling stuff
