I actually did read some of it out of curiosity - just to see what all these middle-aged soccer moms were flicking their beans over. It's fucking ridiculous and horribly written. This reclusive billionare, twenty-something "industrialist" - who looks just like Robert Pattison because the story originated as a piece of Twilight fan fiction - who made huge sums of money in the way that women think ?industrialists? make money, which is: they don?t know. So he just owns a bunch of factories where things are made by hand right here in the good old U S of A and a bunch of farms where man and beast alike are treated ethically and humanely. So when he's asked about his massive hoard of non-inherited money bootstrapped from nothing with the sweat of his brow - the man, who is under thirty, speaks of how he ?knows people? and the key is his forty thousand employees, all of whom he has hand-selected and pays what they?re worth and listens to their ideas and blah blah blah - He just takes time out of his billionare day to track down this barely legal cub reporter who interviewed him about his fortune for her school paper and make her his fuckslave.

So he does all kinds of shit to her. He duct tapes her to a chair, blindfolds her, gags her, beats the shit out of her, pulls a tampon out of her cooch and then fucks her period pussy and sprays hot, salty jizz all over her face. Some other shit, too, I just kind of skimmed it.

I read it for shits and giggles. The erotica is boring (probably would be for anyone in this industry) and the storyline is laughable.

I will still probably end up reading the second book because I am curious how deranged the main male character really is.

I should sue. Minus the whole billionaire thing... this is me.

amazing. bondage stories are a dime/dozen in our biz. But package it a certain way, say it was inspired by twilight, & you have a NY times best seller.

i LOL because there is no doubt the author was stroking her clit to kristen stewart the whole time, & now she will make a fortune selling her wet dream to soccer moms.

genius.

my girlfriend bought these books saying she heard it was hot 'erotica'..i don't think she has a clue what it really is but if it can get her into wanting to do that kind of stuff, i'm all for it. doubtful it will have that effect though, lol.

Thought they split up years ago. Thought she was living with another GFYer for a while.

candyflip 07-04-2012 07:55 PM

I just shared that with a friend who's read the book. She told me that you were off and then proceeded to pretty much validate everything you said when I asked her what was off. :1orglaugh

She did say that there was no duct tape though. Tampon part was in there.

Sophie Delancey 07-05-2012 08:04 AM

I've just read a few passages online and my head still hurts from rolling my eyes so hard. But apparently sales of butt plugs and ben-wa balls are through the roof.

All the women are raving about it. I have not read it yet but thanks for the cliff notes.

_Richard_ 07-05-2012 09:56 AM

I read the first chapter but it was so horribly written that I didn't want to bother continuing. I just couldn't get into it.

dallasnovelty 07-05-2012 01:00 PM

I have heard it's pretty much a trashy harlequin romance novel without fabio on the cover. Same types of stories just a more vanilla wrapper to be read by people who don't "read trashy novels" LOL

I guess that sums it up. I heard about the book, but I never considered reading it until I stumbled across you concise review here at GFY.

You put it all in perspective. :pimp:pimp:pimp:pimp:pimp

Fifty Shades of Grey has topped best-seller lists not just in the United Kingdom but around the world.[1][2] The series has sold around 20 million copies worldwide, with book rights having been sold in 37 countries,[3][4] and set the record as the fastest-selling paperback of all time surpassing the Harry Potter series.[5] Critical reception of the novel has been mixed.

Juicy D. Links 07-05-2012 03:10 PM

V_RocKs 07-05-2012 03:55 PM

Gay ass books for gay ass people.

Ayla_SquareTurtle 07-05-2012 04:42 PM

Downloaded an excerpt... Pure comedy genius. No way is anyone actually getting turned on by that shit. It's kind of like a cartoon version of BDSM.

SpeedoDave 07-05-2012 06:23 PM

I read it because a 'part-time' girlfriend of mine said that the main character reminded her of me.

I think I got half way through before I found something proper to read.

Man there is some shit out there but I'm sure the doris who wrote it is living it up large for writing rubbish.
