Anybody seen one of these cars before?

Pulled on to the bridge today on the way home from work, and this was next to me. Couldn't figure it out for a couple mins, had to pull up behind it to see the name on it. Really different looking, had no idea it was even electric till looking it up

Yes a retailer is near me so I see them quite a bit, they have solar panels (or at least it looks like them) on the roof

Also Tesla just rolled out their Model S which was a big deal last week

Good year for electric

L-Pink 06-28-2012 09:12 PM

In true electric mode it has about a 50 mile range.

That's so weird, I saw my first one the other day. I couldn't place it, but then my man explained. Damn sexy looking car.

Rochard 06-28-2012 09:22 PM

This morning I stopped off to get me a redbull and much to my surprise a car caught my eye - to the point where I stopped to take notice. Much MORE to my surprise it was a Honda.

I must be getting old.

Rochard 06-28-2012 09:27 PM

Here we go. The car was a Honda CRZ. If I was looking for a cheap little new car, I would buy this. Just something to run around town in.

They are really expensive but nice. I work for the road side company that handles them.

fuzebox 06-29-2012 01:28 AM

My Porsche dealership is also the only Fisker dealership in town... They have a whole bunch all lined up plugged into power outlets out front :1orglaugh

It's the evolution of the CRX. They've smoothed out the lines as expected, but the influence is still there. Had a 1984 model - Small, light, agile and excellent on gas.

I was at the Montreal launch for Fisker a few weeks ago, great looking car and fantastic interior.

I love the solar roof, which powers most of the electronics. You get roughly 75km on a charge before it switches to gas. I don't know US pricing but up here they are around $120k which isn't too outrageous compared to a panamera... but it's waaayyyyy slower that the porsche

scuba steve 06-29-2012 08:33 AM

didn't even know it was electric till i went home and looked it up. just real eye catching, never seen one before or heard of it till i saw it on the road

CaptainWolfy 06-29-2012 08:38 AM

first time seeing that car, i think there are only few "eletric" car in this country, i know for a fact that there are only 2 cars in the town that are eletric! :)

JamesChoopa 06-29-2012 08:38 AM

Ahh, the Fisker Karma! This thing is awesome. I first saw one down in North Carolina and was like, wtf is that! I saw one on the Garden State Parkway the other day too. I think the 'base' one start at $102K USD and the 'Upgraded' one is like $116K USD or something like that. The interior space is pretty small and the car was listed as a sub-compact from what I was reading.

The one I saw on the GSP had what looked like solar panels on the roof. When I saw the first one I was in a small Mazda my buddy drives and I couldn't see the roof but the one I saw in NJ was when I was in my Tahoe so I had a good look down. Sweet looking ride!

I wanted one of those in high school sooooo bad! Cheeky little things. I like the new CR-Z as a flashback to it, too.

I am amazed at how many electric cars I see in Amsterdam these days.

2MuchMark 06-29-2012 08:48 AM

I had never heard of this car before! I love how it looks. Too bad about the 50 Mile range on the electric battery but I'm sure the next versions will only improve on this. I read that Ford is coming out with an all electric version of the Focus which was already a pretty nice compact car. If only GM would come out with an Electric Camaro. Sigh...

pornguy 06-29-2012 08:48 AM

Nice looking car.

Waiter 06-29-2012 08:51 AM

Alien attack ... awwwwww ... btw , nice car :thumbsup

AllAboutCams 06-29-2012 09:15 AM

120k for a car isn't outrageous? how you figure that?

HomerSimpson 06-29-2012 03:51 PM

Just like one of these then, electric as well, 60 mile range, 50mph top end, but madness that the doors are optional and you have to pay rental on the batteries each month. See what the car industry is doing. Sell you the car and a fucking subscription, bastards.

I tried one of those cars recently. They are pretty decent..! Ask your neighbour to take you for a ride in it and see what you think.

My neighbors dont like me because I'm an antisocial prick and I fly drones over their house with spy cameras.

I almost bought one of those but then I met a guy in a car show who told me that buying this was a big mistake. He has only problems with his car + the battery goes empty very fast and he can't drive more than 30-50km/hour.

I decided to wait for the next generation.
