Getting surfers to complete an action...
Giving away a free video, in exchange for their email address. Seems easy enough, and the copy is super clear. But it's like getting your cat to do tricks. I get the feeling nobody fucking reads anything when they're surfing with their dicks in their hand.
What have been your experiences with subscribe offers? |
They work. Just be creative with your text.
Now getting them to verify their email is another story.. :) |
I've actually had no unconfirmed emails so far... but very few even initiate the subscribe process. My ratio is less than 1:100 which is complete crap IMO. I would think it would be more along the lines of 1:10 because it's such a great offer.
Back in 2005 I used to get double-opt ins 24.7 on my gay ebony site. Every day I'd get at least 5 email subscribes... and I had only 120 uniques a day coming to the site. And take into consideration there was literally NO offer... just a "Give me your email address" box. |
People are lazy. Make it as easy as possible for them. Surfers hate verifying their e-mail.
They don't read... They scan their eyes over what they see on the screen reading what is quick and easy. That's why you have to use design and wording to trick them into figuring out what's going on without them having to actually read. You also have to sound honest they don't want to waste their time. They don't want spam. so if they are lazy they won't have a opt-in email handy and won't feel like creating one.... etc.. I have no idea what type of campaign you are running.. |
If you rake in the numbers, it wouldn't matter. Regardless, you should keep tweaking your creatives until you get the combo that converts at the rate you want.

Post a grab of the harvesting box creative, then we can give feedback.

Imagine that every surfer is a giant retarded penis flailing about wildly, that at any moment could blow it's load and completely lose interest in anything you are offering.
|
Like 20-30% of mine go unverified. Spambox and yahoo are a key in my numbers. It's like pulling teeth to get my mail delivered to a yahoo address.
