Mars Edit is the best tool.

Arrgghhh, Apple! Anything for Windows? I have a Macbook, but don't use it too much.

It allows me to write to all of my blogs without having to log into Wordpress. Much better.

if you are using win, try windows live writer it's pretty decent!

does anyone know of a web based solution? either something hosted by a 3rd party or a script that can be hosted ourselves, would be good for something that can be used regardless of location, machine or operating system

Blogdesk looks good. I'm also looking for something for tumblr blogs. I see a lot of tumblr blogs coming up on certain keyword searches and they are mostly photo blogs.

Main tools = fingers + manual link trade
