Seems like I should move all my shit to it, as it would save me a few hundred a month from dedicated servers.

i'm assuming you'll have less control than a dedicated. from what i'm seeing people run both, a dedicated server for your actually site script and db and then server image and videos via the cloud. but again I would imagine an spike in traffic to images or videos an be costly over a dedicated server where you're more than likely to have unlimited or something like 10TB or more of bandwidth

Amazon has massive outages.. and pretty frequent as well these days.


Unless you scale out massively and run everything from memory AWS has horrific disk IO performance.

It can be a good deal for some things, but good bandwidth prices is not one of them.

they have a lot of outages

In my calculations, a dedicted server is usually the same price as a cloud server with the same resources or sometimes cheaper

I would always rather stick with some of hostings which are specialized for adult market.
