The "Good Old Days" will remain days gone by.

For online porn and not just for me, for everyone but a tiny few and even these will look back on 2012 as the "Good Old Days". Unless we can really do something or have something that returns us to conditions of days gone by.

For online porn it was probably 2005 to 2008. Some will say it was earlier or later for them. This is about the whole industry. Not individuals.

We need the return of the cost of band width to the days when traffic costs of a gallery on The Hun could be more than the sign ups value. Speed to be so slow that it's not possible to download full definition movies in 10 minutes and 144 a day. And that's slower than today's speeds.

Tubes will go bankrupt by showing movies in any size or length over 1 minute, in the hope some will click on an advert. And piracy will be just as unprofitable for most, with file lockers costing far more than they will make by charging a dollars to download all the content anyone needs for months on end.

Until people have to buy online porn. The good old days are gone.

It will be interesting to see how the emergence of sites like babes.com, orgasms.xxx and whengirlsplay.com effect their future. For sites that deliver the same old canned porn that worked in 2000, it's going to be tough. The audience has been educated in far more than how to download free porn. It's also been educated to expect a great product.

I'm still behind Adultking in his fight to cut out the cancer of piracy and will try to help in any way I can. As I would back any move to cut parasites.

Will remain a realist and glad and then Eva and I were able, to get in very early, make a few bucks and get out in one piece. Well not completely out. See sig. :winkwink:

At first I thought this was going to be an introduction to metaphysics, then I read the Luddite remarks about the cost of bandwidth and stopped reading.

The good days are only over for opportunist idiots that don't know how to 'sell' and got lucky.

That's like a '49er in '52 saying 'Shit man, I used to be amazing at finding gold but the good days are over.'

Surfers today are also going to think 'Man, this crap is old' and go to another site. That wasn't a problem when every site was basically the same age..

tony286 07-13-2012 06:47 AM

The roi on adult will never be the same. You sold someone a video for $40 dollars, they didnt expect every video you ever made from the first day you picked up a camera. All you had to make your choice was a box cover. 200 million dollar budgeted movies trailers are never more than 2 mins but porn feels the need to give away 10 min to 30 min scenes. I also think porn wasnt supposed to be as big as it is today. Before porn was small and those people made a bunch of money now you have more people than it needs and desperation sets in. Hence the race to the bottom.

Barefootsies 07-13-2012 06:52 AM

Damian reminds me of this guy.......... or vice versa.

For the record, I like Damian. I also like Graham Norton. They just remind me of one another.

:2 cents:

if you put the same amount of time in your business as you put in your statements here, your business would be flourishing. Use your resources wisely.

Fuck off with your same old tired bullshit.

God knows you are one bored bastard.. Constantly harping about the same stale shit. Your statements are about as relevant as a milkman. I can't stand people like you. I do hope one day when you look in the mirror, you'll have a moment of self actualization and realize through and through just how pathetic you are.

The old dog needs attention, but nobody wants to run their hand through his greasy rotten hair. You know a thing or two about a thing or two, we get it. Your gfy award was appropriate to say the least.

Sounds like old yeller needs to be clipped already. How do you shrug off the FACT that almost everyone on the board hates you..? Same old I'm right their wrong mentality? Fuck.

Why not do something more productive with your time? All bullshit aside.

Colmike9 07-13-2012 09:12 AM

There is still a ton of money in porn, especially if a regular guy like me can basically just sit on my couch or go to the park high and make a 6 figure bank acct in 2 years from absolutely nothing. :upsidedow

btw, I'm making more than ever now, too :pimp

Yes, 100,000s of shops selling porn videos for $40 that were only 5 scenes and magazines were the real good old days. The Internet just combined production, wholesale and retail into one entity or a couple. Those days are very long gone. The size of that industry world wide was far more than online porn ever was.

No I have no real proof and neither fdoes anyone have proof to show it's not true. Logic tells me that when you had to but 5 a months supply every month. It would generate far more than a system where you didn't have to buy and when you did, you could get 6 months to a years supply for $30.

Most definitely was not 2005-2008 for the industry, the US recession and real estate collapse was in full effect by 2008 and tubes were already having an impact. The glory days for most were 2002-2006.

In Grand Theft Auto IV, the not very bright and newly immigrated Slavic character (Roman) calls his brother who has no email address, a Luddite. That bothered me every time I heard it. Just felt to be a little too far out of his vocabulary range.

Sly 07-13-2012 12:00 PM

Do you guys remember that one night in high school where we all got plastered at Susie's party after the football game? Man, what a wild night! Easily the best night of my life. Wish I could go back…

Didnt you retire, surely the Great Paul M, master of the universe made enough where he doesnt have to stoop to posting on GFY. Sorry Paul , your just like a senile old man ranting as people pass you in the street. Geez.

You keep reiterating the same vague garbage over and over and over again every fucking day you post on here.. seriously. are you a broken record?

Paul Markham 07-13-2012 01:19 PM

Sorry, I screwed up my post.

I should of said.

No I have no real proof and neither fdoes anyone have proof to show it's not true. Logic tells me that when you had to buy a months supply every month, which was only 5 scenes. I like the replies. Nothing to say and use too many words to do it.

When ever the glory days of online porn were, they are gone. Never to return. While my ship made it to the shore, most of you will have to get a new one to finish your journey.

I believe you.
I've done my share of moaning and bitching. It sounded like you did more than just porn, weren't you doing something along the lines of robotics (you mentioned an expensive license in another thread).

I believe there is money to be made in porn niche communities. Facialforum makes ok money catering to there user base and having some industry people hang out there.
