Gone are the days of making an easy dollar, but porn is far from dead.
Anyone who disagrees has the wrong mindset. |

I would like to add some things to your list, which people need to know. Research the product. #4 Research your customers. They're people not numbers. #5 This will save a lot of time testing sites you shouldn't be pushing in the first place. |
the problem is, that once you find what works, you have to dig that idea while it works, and it may be boring like a shit, still doing the same, again and again and again and again, oh man ... money are there, but find the energy to do every day the same ... oh, man ...
|
Not really, every porn is dead thread is another chance to counter mindless nonsense and nostalgia. LOTS of money to be made. Just need to stay focused on what is important.

IMO these "Porn is dead threads" should be welcomed by those in porn. Think of the positive effect they have. |

If you treat it like a job, by that I mean... putting the 8 hours in, M-F, you will still make money easily. :2 cents: |
I agree with Paul ,I dont think its dead but alot less people are going to be working in it. Porn cant sustain the number of people that were working in it during the internet boom. Its going to go back to its level.

Very few people make money selling porn anymore or any services associated with the adult industry. It is for most people a dead industry. Most people who say they make alot of $ in porn are full of shit and just say it to look good but could never actually prove it if they had too.

It's not the same deal as an affiliate as it once was. There's still money to be had for some. But there are lots of people trying to blow smoke up your ass. Especially those who can profit from you. If they get 100 people to send them 2000 more clicks a month it all adds up nicely and all is fine for them even though those individual affiliates might make $0-$35 a month. Even better if they just shave the little guys so badly that they never have to actually pay out anything. 2000 clicks a month at 1:20,000 means one sale every 10 months.
There are lots of webmasters bullshitting about what they make too. I know one here who recently claimed they still make $60,000 a year from adult. They are very vocal about adult being better than ever. But you can go to another forum and find a post from them a few months ago admitting they only make $6,000 a year in this industry. :upsidedow Some of the people who participate in these threads do so because they are trying to convince themselves. Others not so much. Don't shoot the messenger. Just telling it as it is. |

The above is written from an "affiliate's" point of view. Not true for 'the industry' on the whole. No offense meant to the O.P.. :2 cents: |
even more blah blah and less work :)

For a long time I was accused of putting off shooters from competing with me. Which makes perfect business sense. The less going into my market place, the more left for me. So who do the "porn is shrinking" threads effect? Those making a good living as an affiliate? No way, they know their true position. Those struggling? No way, they know their true position. Those who don't want more competitors to take their business? Yes, they should welcome the posts of gloom. It deters the 5% who could make some money and ultimately it comes from the same pot. The pot they feed from. Those who need reassuring all's fine? Yes, they must need their daily dose of "Everything's fine." Those with something to sell? Yes. Those selling the "Join my scheme and I'll make you rich" The snake oil salesman want the newbies to jump right in. http://www.piginshit.com/wp-content/...l-salesman.jpg Deterring competition from dipping their snouts into your troth. Is simply business. The less people, the more left for those in the business. Affiliates and new sites, don't bring a new batch of buyers. Wish they did. |
It's not dead. It just got harder for affiliates and require actual daily work.

I honestly thought the competition would be much harder when I started this a few years ago :upsidedow |
