Most of the people who get gored are foreign. I did it 12 years ago.
Wouldn't do it now though. Too many people.
I only ran about 50 meters at the beginning where the bulls are all together, when they split up later is where the problems start.

I did that once a few years ago. Would probably do it again, but I wouldn't travel there to just for that.
