Akismet not catching all spam lately

Anyone else has noticed Akismet not performing as well as it used to, in the last month or so?
It happens mostly with SOME installs.

Some dozens of spam comments of spam manage to go through it. Used to be almost fail-proof.

Any idea why?

i havent got a problem with mine

On another note I thought you were gone, was asking about your sites months back cause they were all down which was a bummer cause your sites actually convert pretty well so ill have to get some more of your vids on my amateur blog. Nice to see you are still going :)

Hey halfpint
I am posting here pretty much everyday, look at my profile :-)
Regarding your question of months ago: I had missed in real time, and replied a week later or so (I guess you may in turn have missed my reply...).

We are hosted with Amerinoc and up 99.999 etc, but I guess you may have caught an occasional moment when the gods of the internets were against us.

We are here to stay and converting better than ever. We add new promos EVERYDAY (not many do so...), have added new sites, and working on exciting new stuff too.

Hit me up on ICQ, I'll walk you through :thumbsup

ps: following several affiliate requests, we have now added the option to promote our program via CCBill, with CCBill payouts. It's in beta now and will announce publicly in some days, but if you want to test it is already perfectly working.

Ill keep mine with verotel as im not a huge fan of CCBILL :) and will start adding more vids to my blog cause your stuff really does convert well, I stoped cause i thought you had gone :(

Forgot to ask have you got an afflaite referal program

cthulhu_waves 07-20-2012 01:20 AM

alf6300, check your plug-ins, you may have updated incompletely or have added a new plug-in that's interfering with the filtering program.

My click to buy ratio was 1:116 before I stopped adding and updating the blog ..damm im an idiot lol

Yup, we have a 15% affiliate referral program on CCBill :thumbsup

(one of the reasons we had to add CCbill to Verotel)

ps: Just to be sure, a technical bit - CCbill and Verotel sit side-by-side seamlessy. There is no harm to affiliates: ONLY if the surfer cookie is CCbill, the Join will be CCbill.

Thanks, cthulhu_waves!
Did some tweaking and updating, I'll see if the filtering improves :thumbsup

Looks spam has now stopped for good after some tweakings, I have no clue which one did the job, though:
- updated akismet to the latest version (doubt this did it, though - it was a minor minor update that should not improve performance)
- removed a couple of active but unused plugins. I guess this maybe the culprit, although it seems weird because I can't see any relationship with spam

anyway, it works well again, now.

Hey Captain
you read my mind... :winkwink:
blog rss feeds are the next addition coming to our set of tools :thumbsup

Your feedback is very valuable for us: if you feel, you can hit me up on icq or mail, so we make sure that we implement it in the way that is most convenient for you. (I'd love to hear what are your priorities, morphing/non-morphing, most interesting options etc)
